Location: North Dakota | JLazyT_perf_horses - 2013-10-24 2:37 PM I'm sure a lot of personal life drama will be in it. The ad for the show mentions roping cowboys. A show strictly on the sport without a some drama wouldn't survive on the air more than one or two episodes to the general public. It's marketed at them, not for the rest of us barrel racers who already full well know what's involved in the sport. They may not be the top competitors, but honestly were any of them going to take time out of their chase to the NFR to film a tv show that I'm sure is actually very little reality? Probably not, their focus is solely on those three cans.
Yep. It isn't suppose to be a documentary. It is a TV show that is wanting ratings. Every TV show has some sort of drama involved. If it didn't would you watch it? Even Duck Dynasty has a bit of drama in each episode to keep you wanting more. It is pretty light hearted but they do try to make pretty simple things a bit more "dramatic" to make a show. Let's face it...life is boring without drama. My life is drama free because I don't like drama in my own life so I try to avoid it but it's fun to sit back at night and watch some mindless entertainment. |

As was Trevor Braziile's series AND the Jockey series....that argument doesn't hold water........ |

AT ALL Is she ranked before or after you? THAT was tacky!!! Pretty funny though considering how people are saying that the barrel racers in the show can't even place in the 4D when one of them held the world record on a standard with a 16.75 and won the DNCFR. Yep. I don't know of anyone else that has posted on this topic that has held the world record on a standard (or has even ran a 16 on a standard for that matter) or is a DNCFR champion. Lots of mud throwing going around and we wonder how barrel racers got a bad name? I can tell ya it wasn't from this show that has never aired!!! Do you think that maybe it could be from the judgemental, catty, and insecure woman that always seem to enter up at the events or come on boards such as this and bash other barrel racers? Lighten up everyone! These girls can ride, they look good, they are on a TV show about THEM, there may be some drama involved. Oh well! Really? Have you read your posts.......

I remember watching a few of the Ranching shows, and they were pretty good, how they had to get hay up befor winter set in, moving cattle from paster to pasture on horse back and there was a couple of young familys and I remember at one end of the show one of the ranchers was in a bad truck accident, but I forgot to watch this show and dont know what ever became of the rancher that was in the accident. But it was a good show, showed how ranching could really be hard on you and as a family. |

Yep I sure have and I'm pretty sure I'm not bashing anyone. Just saying everyone is taking this poster and promo way too seriously. I just don't see the reason for all the negativity and bashing towards people you don't even know. |

Location: CA | They have bikini barrel races here in Ca. That picture could have been taken at one of them. Its just a side pot, but I have seen them. So of course they will head to the steamy shots to push the show. If barrel racres don't want to be seen that way, they shouldn't have those kind of races. |

It was taken at Red Bluff.

One good comparison is to the reality shows about loggers - we are from logger country up here in the Pacific NW and loggers sure aren't like they are portrayed on those shows. Or those morons on the gold mining shows, I hate that Todd dude, how did he get the money to even go gold mining?
Why are all these reality shows from the PNW? LOL
GG, I think we're all just easily amused. And bored in the wet winters.
They're making y'all look bad
Ugh...Todd... that man can be "flat broke and close to going home" then pull enough cash out of somewhere the next week to buy an expensive piece of equipment ....without finding any gold |

Location: East Tennessee but who knows?! | I think the fact that some aren't understanding why this is disturbing is a subtle sign of how this country has gotten so off track and just lets anything go until it effects them in a negative way personally. This is not so much about a girl in a bikini on a barrel horse. They have a charity bikini race. I get that. The problem is that A&E is aiming for Bravo ratings using slimeball tactics focusing on drama and dragging a sport and lifestyle through the mud with it and damaging its reputation when we already have a poor one. These girls are getting pimped by a business and anybody who buys into it is getting tricked as well and most think thats ok, they're just selling themselves. |

And totally uncalled for. She is a fellow barrel racer here in the NW and has been for years.

Location: Montana | ktbarrelhorses - 2013-10-25 7:41 AM Okay so did anyone see half the girls Jr. Rodeo... for real found all the girls on Twitter and i've never heard of one of them but I sure hope they can stay classy and treat the horses with the respect that true rodeo girls do.. thats what rodeo is about... the HORSES not the girls... my opinion.. Does anyone know these girls?
Yes I do Know two of these girls, I know Darcy the girl that got this show started and Megan, I believe Megan is the youngest on the show and the newest to pro rodeo. Heck I even tried out for the show. I agree the Promo poster might not be the best way to promote this show. But Darcy is one of the hardest working people I know and so is Megan. Darcy not only has her horses but she also runs a couple companies one of the being one of the top costruction companies in the NW. |

| Marvel was the NV State High School All Around a few consecutive years back in the 90s. I never competed with her in my age division of Jr. Rodeo but my cousins did. I think she is also of the Marvel Family, a hard working ranching family in NV. I could be mistaken but I think he cousin is Matt Marvel.
I wont be watching this show. It's not the fact that she is in a bikini that bothers me so badly, it's the fact that A&E felt it appropriate to represent the sport and promote the series in this fashion. There description of life on the road was laughable as well. I believe they used the term "lavish and glamorous world of women on the pro rodeo circuit". When I heard about the possibility of this series in the spring I was excited, they did a great job with Duck Dynasty in the first couple series, as well as the series they did on ranchers, jockeys and the one with Trevor Brazil. I was hoping it would reflect on the industry in the same way.

Location: North Dakota | Just read all the bashing on this board of people many of us know nothing about! Does that ooze class? If we were all at a rodeo talking like this and they were taping it they could easily make a show about it without any editing!!! Do you people not see how ironic you all are being? Quit dropping names just to bash them! Especially when the person isn't on here to standup for themselves. To me that is classless and trashy. This board is the epitome of what you all are thinking this show is going to turn into. |
