If you'll notice, the epicenters for the start of the virus in the US are sanctuary cities and sanctuary states.  We have the Democrats to thank for diseases that walk across our border unwelcome and illegal so don't knock Trump for anything until you can figure out a way to justif that.  Also remember the H1N1 that killed thousands of Americans in 2009 while Obama was blithering about waterboarding, holding concerts and Hollywood parties at the White House (compliments of the taxpayers) and scheduling one vacation after another.

I can't seem to post links but a quick Google search with give you many very good sources to say that is not true.  I know facebook posts crap like that all the time, I wish people would check sources.

ETA:  If you look at the map the epicenter is really a lot of airports.  I don't think what is going on now is going to help that.  I also read an article about how China feels about us and the way we treat our poor.  Since you mentioned the sanctuary cities, they may be right that the rich want to blame it all on the poor people.

Are you saying that we should care about what China thinks?  Do you know that if it weren't for Chinas coverup operation, Italy and Iran would be in much better shape right now?  They hid this from the rest of the world, punished those who spoke out about it and now they are blaming the virus on the US. Do you really think Chinas poor are so much better off than the poor in America?

Do you also realize that half our government was still trying to impeach Trump when all this started then criticized him for the travel retrictions?  Pelosi trying to sneak thru abortion funding was a nice touch also.

I really love Hillarys tweets, the queen of corruption that sat on her hands while our embassy in Benghazi requested extra security over and over, then lied about it, is now preaching from the cheap seats about how Trump should "give a ****".  Whatever missteps are being made by the current administration, and I really don't think there are many, I am thankful Hillary is not our leader right now.

Been awhile since I've been on here...I came on to see if anyone was talking about the NFR Flu that many of us went home with. Sore throat, sudden high fever, dry cough...same symptoms as this virus. Then, after reading the posts I saw where Polopony (?) was trashing Trump & calling him a liar while stating:

"I think his job is to reassure the people that someone is in charge."  Just had to laugh...can't have it both ways.

Blessings to all and 'good health'!

If you want to experience a real "downer" just watch CNN and MSNBC for a couple of seconds.  It would be like this virus was manufactured in Trump Tower.

You have only to look at a map to see where the virus evolved from the onset......California, New York, Washington.  Seattle is proudly a sanctuary city and this is where so many elderly passed away in a nursing home facility.  Kirkland, a suburb of Seattle.

Also realizing that Google is a very liberal site if you're going there for information.

If anyone wants a laugh today, IL has decided fishing is a threat to the health of our citizens, so no fishing until further notice. Unless you're on your own private lake. But you can still go to Walmart and hang out with the 300 other people there buying all the food up

Ok sorry if this is TMI for the menfolk but I was running low on monthly lady necessity products... thinking I'd order off my Amazon prime account to avoid people-ing,  my usual pretty basic and widely available product is not available... completely sold out on Amazon.... I was shocked.... hopefully I can go to my local dollar general and maybe get some. Never in a million years would I think Amazon would be out of something like that.

On another note, my brother, who lives in California, hes a mortgage broker, people are refinancing like crazy right now... he also said he booked a trip to Hawaii for $198 round trip airline tickets lol! He is going around living life not worried about a thing ... I envy him. All his kids are grown and moved on, he laughs at all this craziness.

I have to go to CVS today, I'll check for the feminine products since I am low on that just in case. However I will only buy 1 package like I always do. I can't believe the things people are buying up in their panic. Our grocery store was emotied of all perishables (produce, meat, cheese, dairy) and most of the canned goods, however the frozen section was entirely untouced except for pizzas.  Magazines in the checkouts were gone. If I was planning on being quaratined I'd be heading for the frozen section myself. I think all the shutdowns of restaurants & bars are crossing the line, if people want to go out thats on them. Its ok to go to walmart or go get your hair done at a salon, but sitting in a boat by yourself is considered a threat? Downtown is booming today with people at the bars celebrating St Pattys day before the bars are required to close at 9 tonight. The number of small businesses that are going to go under, the people who are going to lose their cars & homes, the single paycheck to paycheck parents that won't be able to feed their kids...this is all going to be far more damaging to anyone than the actual virus is

The thing that gets me, we live in a pretty small town, people from the large cities are coming to our towns and shopping and buying up everything they can... the store manager told us this at our local grocery store.. they were completely sold out of all meat. and bagged salads! Like those only last a few days before they get nasty! Bagged salad..... I'm just blown away. A tiny meat market right up the road from me is sold out too. They said people from Austin were coming and buying up all the ground meat, steaks and chicken.  Us as locals are now being forced into the larger cities to get some basics now if we even can.

When I was shopping at close to 10pm friday night they were slowly coming from the back starting to restock things. Which is how I got most of what I needed like bread and milk. I didn't wait for the meats to get restocked as I have a chest freezer almost full. I bought a lot of frozen meals for lunches at work with the restaurants being closed right now. Even butter was gone. If you get to the stores first thing in the morning you can usually find what you need. They've been rationing TP in the back and set out a certain number every morning, so if you're quick you can get that. Idk about 24 hour stores though. It should calm down in the next few days as all the panic people will have what they need & will be in hiding, so the normal folks will be able to do normal shopping then. I board my horses & have a cooler & ice in the freezer for drinks and some frozen dinners and ramen in a box in case we get quarantined I'm living in the trailer at the barn lol. My horses will at least still get legged up for barrel races, we don't have a gathering limit yet except up in Chicago

Our local Hy-Vee is stocked full of everything including toilet paper...however they wanted  7 bucks for 4 rolls! Just came back from Clovis New Mexico and the Wal Mart was completely out of toilet paper, egg, milk, rice and beans but stocked full of fresh food.   We went out to eat - I wanted to spend time with the boys since they are leaving for Mid East...and the restaurants were pretty bare.   We are being very meticulous with washing hands and wiping down exposed areas but like everyone else have to lead a life!

The grocery stores have changed their hours to meet the restocking demands ... no longer 24 hours. People need to STOP! there are people lined up around the corner in the mornings when they open at 8am and they are only letting in a few at a time... I wonder how long thatll last before there is an uprising and police are needed.  I'm honestly sick over this. I tried ordering my dog food from my beloved chewy .com and they are sold out and said delivery times are being affected because of the virus ... really?

We have a big Dillons and a smaller one.  Us seniors like the smaller one because there's way less walking.  I became aware Saturday, because you become familiar with so many people and the types, that outsiders were cleaning our shelves.  I know they have a perfect right but it was still annoying.

Has anyone here lost their job because of this virus? Or been sent home to wait it out with no pay?

Luckily IF I have to I can work from home. Right now I'm still in the office, I'm not letting coworkers in my office. Any paperwork they need to give me they can put in a bin on my door.

I don't deal with the public so that is nice, but I work with a group of men that aren't real great at washing their hands

I'm afraid this is going to have a huge lasting effect on the economy for a while. If this keeps going I think there will be a lot of closed down business, foreclosed houses, and repossessed vehicles.

We're still going so far. But I keep thinking about all the people that will go under because of the shut downs. Our area is supposedly trying to come up with a food bank for those that are currently jobless, but I hope they can find food for it. Some of our employees live paycheck to paycheck, like myself, and one week of not working and no pay means I can't amke my house payment or buy feed. So hopefully we don't get shut down. But I pray for those that do and that the survive this. The bars should be doing well today since they all are doing St patricks day today instead of tomorrow when they're shut down. So hopefully people tip nicely and buy lots of alcohol to at least support those folks. Restaurants are allowed to do curbside carryout still so hopefully some small restaurants an still get some business that way. As for other types of jobs idk how they'll fare

In the office, door closed, don't bug me unless absolutely necessary; which no one seems to be doing. People having been calling my office which is weird because if I were them- I'd be emailing assuming no one was in and instead remote working. Trying to get those people with kids who can't go to school set up remotely first. I quit my job before this all blew up and so my last day is April 3. GREAT TIME TO BE UNEMPLOYED. Not. I'm honestly not freaking out too much, just taking it day by day.

My tutoring job; still business as usually which I'm highly unimpressed about.

Yup. My dental office closed today. For a week then re evaluate for next week. The ADA just notified us that they recommend 3 weeks closed with just emergency care offered.  No pay here...
