Silly Filly - 2013-12-03 9:19 PM One of my friends does that with her girls.  They love it, but a neighbor girl told them the other day that you could buy the elf in stores....................................She even brought him to the office where the girls "discovered" him.  Thinking about getting one when my grandkids get here at Christmas.

Well she could tell them that the naughty kids have to get theirs from the stores, Santa only sends them special delivery to the "nice" kids lol.

"Elfis" (my son is so origional with names lol) brought my son a note last night and asked him if he could talk with our black puppy (Doberman that often steals and shreds my son's stuffed animals) because she had been looking at him funny all day. He thought that was so funny but then the poor dog got read the right act and put in her kennel and he asked me to watch her really close while he was at school. She even got the whole "look at me when I am talking to you, this is serious.".

I am doing elf on the shelf for our boys this year... problem i am finding because i want to do pranks... we have a puppy and the kids play all over the house...i really like the idea of making a train w/ their boots and stuffed animals but how in the heck does that work if you can't touch the elf... i would need to pick it up so the dog doesn't get it!!! or if they are using the kids toothbrush, the kid can't brush their teeth since the elf can't be touched!! how does that work?!?! this is my first year so i appreciate the help!

Oh - only the adults can touch the elf!! If the kids touch him, sprinkle him with cinnamon and it will bring back the magic :

Thank you for this post! I hear all about the Elf on the Shelf and didn't know what it was about. Is 2 years old too young to start? Of course I don't think our little girl has a clue about Santa or getting gifts, so it probably is too soon?

Thank you! Sounds like a ton of fun!

Maybe I should get one for my husband, and it would keep him out of trouble ;-)

Merry Christmas,

BHR
