I moved here from Michigan about 12 years ago. NEVER, ever going back to a colder climate. South Georgia is perfect weather. |

Location: Florida | Ok, it's in the mid 80s, sunny and GORGEOUS out right now, but around Thanksgiving it decided to be winter for a few days and we were in the 60s during the day and 40s at midnight... I wore a carhartt and layers lol. I am certainly a Florida girl to the core. I lived in MO for school for a while and saw snow for the first time... 5 mins in and I retired to hot coco and pjs. WHO LIKES THAT STUFF?! Wet and cold do not mix lol |

I would die where you live I dont remember it ever being this cold before. Usually this time of year it is single digits above zero. Never thought I would say that, but I wish It were at least inthe single digits again! It is awful early for this. I hope it isn't an insight to what the winter is going to be like. Yesterday there were a lot of school and businesses closed because of the winter storm. Roads are bad this morning. I have the tractor plugged in and will go out in a couple hours to put a couple more round bales out.
I had read something earlier this fall that had the country divided into sections & the predictions for temperatures & moisture. I can't remember the "exact" word for our area but it might have been frigid temps, normal snowfall. I had looked at MI's too since I am originally from there & theirs was about the same. I do remember it looked colder pretty much all over. We had 3* here yesterday & 7* this a.m., but yesterday the sun came out & it was nice. At least we don't USUALLY get the wind, thank goodness! |

Yuck. that's not what I wanted to hear. I guess we don't get a choice so we'll buck up and deal with it but I'm not going to be happy about it. |

Yep....and the wind doesn't want to let up the last couple days. Everything I have has lots of prairie hay and wind protection.
The coldest I ever remember was about 3 years ago maybe???? Woke up to -47. We were the coldest spot in the nation. Warmed up to -20 that day. Thankfully no wind that day. |

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | It was -20 here this morning. The sun is finally out and the wind has stopped for now. We have been driving on snow and ice packed roads since Tuesday and I think we will continue until next week sometime. We are not supposed to get above freezing for at least a week and then it will only be 32.
I can deal with the cold if there is no wind and I hate driving on ice.
I think it is time to head south. |

At first they talked like this was a quick moving arctic system, now I heard the same as you that its here for a while. This is our warmest day for a while (3 above is the high) so I have the tractor plugged in, will go out in a while and put more hay out. |
