By not giving them away for free it kind of protects SOME of the puppies from going to bad homes, the person getting the puppy will think a little more. Not everyone knows that a puppy needs to be with the mother longer. You did a good thing getting the puppy but you shouldn't pass judgement on someone. The puppies could have been dumped on the side of the road, this person you called the cops on tried in some way to do something for the dogs by finding them a home. I hope YOU find the dog a good home! I do pit bull rescue full time. My computer must have a glitch. Did I miss a post about you asking if I knew how she got the puppies? I don't recall any discussion on here about the conversation I had with the lady prior to taking the dog and calling the cops. Apparently I was having an outer body experience since you somehow know that the mother was dumped and she was being a good samaritan (insert sarcasm).
"Judgement" would be me assuming something about someone without knowing the truth behind it. There was no "judgement " here. There were facts. Dogs are underage. Dogs were being sold underage. By law in the state of California it is ILLEGAL to sell or rehome any puppy under the age of 8 weeks . Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. Now she will learn the law and become educated and hopefully not continue to make the same irresponsible decisions (NOT because I owe you or anyone an explaination for my actions , but I spoke with this woman and she intentionally bred the dogs as she made it clear to state the "bloodlines" to me of both parents and the tempermants, and I made sure to confirm that both parents were still at her house . The cops also have my contact info in the event that the parents are siezed if she recieves an animal negligence charge. I will also be calling animal control in the morning ( who I have an established partnership with) so they can notify me in the event that anything transpires of this and I can help assist them in rehoming the parents as well after they are altered). I clean up the mess that these irresponsible people create , my job is not only to save the dogs but to stop the idiots . Until we solve the PEOPLE problem , we will never solve the PIT BULL problem. So before YOU pass judgement on my capability of making an educated decision in an animals best interest , realize that this post was created to share a new addition to my rescue program and the exact dialouge between this person and I wasn't included in this thread as the legalities of the situation have nothing to do with the purpose of this post . This isn't my first rodeo.

F Bar, It is not only Pit Bulls who pay the price of stupid humans. Sadly there are a whole lot of folks out there that will breed for $$ instead of working at McD's. Thank you for making a differance.
Luckily CO has the same law on pups and kittens under 8 weeks. Wish people would learn why it is so important for pups to remain in the litter and interact with Momma Dog those last two or three weeks. And Thanks for calling the cops. I make that same call at least a couple of times a month.
Knowing one more is safe and headed to a forever home is priceless!

Sadly, the people problem will never be solve. In my area, I think the immigration problem has a direct impact on the pit bull problem. I turned the stray schnauzer I found over to a rescue after I paid to get him neutered and all other vets costs to make him adoptable. When I saw they were charging a rather high fee to cover "vet" costs for his adoption, my first reaction was to be a little miffed. My second reaction was that is someone paid for him, he would not become a bait dog.........so I am pleased he found a home and will donate to this rescue in the future. If we could spay and neuter some people, the dog issues might be resolved. |

Thank you for caring.

Your act of rescuing them was very kind. Teaching them a lesson, we can only hope that you do. But in the spirit of Christmas, and someone posing the question or thought of being another scenario possibly- your response to her was much less kind than that of your act. Im sure your tone is lost in translation of text but it reads kind of harsh? JMO. Merry Christmas and thank you for your efforts in saving pit bulls and others. |

| Thank you for saving the puppy. However who knows what the situation was for the seller. Maybe she has kids she was desperate to buy gifts for. Who knows. I wouldn't call her HO HO Horrible. Sounds really harsh. Everyone makes mistakes and need to learn from them. I'm sure we all have been guilty from time to time of contributing to a problem.
Merry Christmas everyone. |
