mam0329 - 2014-01-08 7:37 PM I have never heard of this either. If it is something sweet, you have to fill me in. Probably nothing left of it to post a pic?
Grandmas recipe makes 8 kuchen.  I DO NOT keep all of them here or I'd blow up.  I give them away, send them to pathetic Dr's, sent one to my buddy in Ft Pierre and I had one left in the freezer today to take to my Grandpa next trip to town and my daughter got it out and started eating.  This is peach..or what's left of it.  Its really hard to see with the goofy lighting in my kitchen.  Give me a second to try and post.

HotbearLVR - 2014-01-08 7:05 PM Update: I just finished my 2nd piece.  My girlfriend called.....and I didn't bother taking my face away from the trough to walk over and pick up the phone.  I hope she understands.  It was delicious!  I am now officially a "kuchen connoisseur"!

Now...time for a cigar.

You have a girlfriend and you look like the picture you posted???  OMGosh is she desperate?

JK....I've seen Dr. Hotty Pants.  Met him and everything.  I wasn't hot enough that he remembers but one of these days we're going to run into each other again and I'm going to attack him with hugs and kisses.  He's going to wonder who the hell is the freak?

Its a German dessert.  Sort of a bread type crust filled with custard and fruit and topped with a butter/sugar/cinnamon crumble.
Oh Cool. I knew there differnt kinds.  HTBR Is one lucky polar bear

If I can figure out how to mail this stuff to warmer climates without getting wrecked you'll be the first person I'm sending it to.  Maybe if Amy is heading your way I can send some with her.
The last 2 I mailed only took 2 day delivery and both destinations were sub 0 temps.  I froze it to a crisp -30 degrees thanks to Mother Nature and sent it on its way.  When thawed its pretty goopy stuff so I don't quite know how to mail it successfully.

I bet if you give him kuchen first, then attack him with hugs and kisses he would not mind one bit!

We call them Kolaches in Texas. There are even Kolache festivals. I think it is the same thing.

Looking at the picture of the kuchen I posted it looks small but you make it in pie plates if that gives you an idea for size.

I got out my googler. I think they are two different things. Kolaches are a little larger than a donut, sometimes bigger. They are both from the same food group called ..........YUM!

Just saw that too. Either way, they are sugary carbs, and you can't go wrong with that! EVER! Now I have to stop at the bakery in the morning and get some:)

Just checking in.  I ate 2 pieces.....1/3rd of the kuchen.  Mine was cherry.  It will be down to 1/2 by bedtime, because I am malnourished and need a kuchen snack before bedtime.

I was accused of being a flirt on BHW for whining about starving by a certain someone.

Begging for food and hawt chicks is a perfectly acceptable manly pursuit.

I had a special treat in my mailbox too!  Thank you CYA, you made my day!  It tasted just like my grandma's which is really cool as I was really close to my grandma and still miss her daily. Plus I discovered I love love peach. Everyone is in bed now so I'm going to have another piece and watch Rules of Engagement.
