| RodeoCowgirl4u - 2014-01-12 10:29 PM I'm with you...I only have one (well 2, but one hasn't been made and given to me yet ) so I wear mine on a belt and may just get one of those buckle frames. I showed Hunt Seat Equitation and jumpers, so I have a BUNCH of ribbons, medals, and trophies that are in a box somewhere at my parents. Some of them I gave away, too. The kids think my trophies are cool...I would rather have buckles that I can WEAR. LOL
I wear mine. The bottom shelf, top far right and middle. They only look clean. If you were here, you'd ask if I ever polished them- answer nope, never have. Those two buckles were won on my 19 sec pole mare- first in poles and first in penning- same day. Too bad she's old as those buckles now...LOL I think they only look new because I had the flash on lmbo |

| We too have a coffee table made into a buckle table with a glass top. It is full, one layer, so you can see all the different buckles. Then we took an old belt and punched it full of holes from end to end and hang it on the wall with the buckles hanging on it. It holds maybe 8-9 buckles and we can get to them easy if we want to change out the buckle on our belt. |

Location: Texas | I used some old window frames that still had hardware on them. Applied hardware cloth to the back and the hung them with old barbwire. I was lucky enough tofind two that matched. They hold 16 buckles each. they cost me $10 each to make (purchased the window frames at an antique store). I am still looking for an old victoian screen door to do that with as well. Too many buckles I guess! |

This is me! I rode jumpers for my entire childhood until I moved to a place where everyone gives you blank stares when you say "I own a _____ warmblood."
I do have a pretty neat quilt though, that my aunt made me out of my old ribbons. She used the rectangular fluttery parts as the actual quilt, and then used the rosettes off of the more awesome ribbons "Grand Champion" and what not. The backing is just a super cozy flannel. And I had her use only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd so that there was a bit of uniformity.
I'm so glad I moved to rodeo/barrel racing land. It is such a fantastical place! AND THEY GIVE YOU TROPHIES YOU CAN WEAR AND RIDE IN! |

| I'll hijack my own thread here. I have 27 buckles. I sometimes wonder how much money I have in each buckle. If I calculated every single dollar I have ever spent on a horse, feed, depreciation, vet, entry fees, etc. etc. , and decided that by 27 how much money I have in each one. I'd say the number would be shocking. One could argue that more has been gained than lost in memories, family time, etc. etc. |
