Location: Gainesville, TX | Get pedicures done during the warm season. Otherwise it's a no for me. I'm constantly breaking my nails by being outside with my horses. So I keep them cut short with no polish. |

 Am I really the Weirdo?
Location: Kansas | I keep mine painted to hide the dirt. Usually some shade of red, but I've done blue (local high school colors, my brother plays basketball there) and some different pinks too. I generally have to redo them every week because I wear the polish off the ends in a few days. When about 1/3 of the nails are unpolished, I take the rest off and repaint with a different color. I want to try a funky color this next time but haven't decided what it wil be.
Does adding a clear top coat really extend the life of the polish? I have top coat I think (for Chicago screws LOL) but haven't used it. |

Location: North Dakota | My nails break unless I keep them cut as short as I can! They are very brittle and thin. I have tried to keep them painted but the paint comes off within 24 hours because I wash a ton of dishes daily!!!!! When I get up my hair goes into a pony-tail and I throw on some makeup and thats it. I have thin stringy brittle hair that is not fixable so I could't be girly if I wanted to!!! |

| I wear gel polish! They aren't long but it keeps them from chipping and breaking when I ride! I always broke off gel nails and I have yet to break one of these! By far my favorite type of nail! And I can change up the color each time! |

Right now I have leopard tips. I usually get a cute design drawn on mine! I've had zebra tips & I loved them! I love where I go get mine done at and they know exactly how I want them. I'm definitely not a "girly girl" but this is the one thing I do. It's the one thing that doesn't involve horses, kids, trucks, fishing or hunting that my life is filled with!
I have hot pink blingy tips right now!! They are VERY girly!! In a few months when these are ready to be ripped off I will get tips which resemble a crackeled easter egg. Super cool looking and very springy:)
I work in an industry where my clients see my nails so they can't be chewed off, ragged, or have dirt under them!LOL So I hide it all with acrylics:) |

Yes! Sally Hansen has one that's Diamond Shine I think is the name that is awesome! It's sold in a box and it has a black bottle with a silver lid and silver writing. I love it for a top coat. I've also heard good things about Seche Vite, Essie's No Chips Ahead and Juleps Freedom Polymer top coats. |

Location: So. Cali. | I invested in the 'at home gel nails'. Takes a while from all the layers and LED light use, but last way longer and nails dont break while painted because the gel makes them so thick

Location: Texas | I can't paint mine. They start chipping the first day... then I spend the rest of the time peeling off paint lol.
My natural nails are strong and grow pretty quick. I also don't chew them... but slap a set of fake nails on them and I chew them suckers right off. I am doomed to plain ol' natural nails for the rest of my life lol. I love having fake nails too :(. |

| I've honestly never ever had a manicure. When mine get too long to get clean, I just cut them off...when I got married I got the Sally Hansen stick on fake French nails---they looked fantastic for four days, and then I got home to my horses and soaked them off. Nice nails just aren't for me! |

Location: Montana | I try to keep clear on my nails when I'm working as it helps keep them strong. Never had a manicure, I think the money spent on one would be wasted on me. But on the weekend I'll sometimes paint them, depending on how much time and patience I have. I love sparkly nail polishes...you can't ever tell if you smudge them or not!

Hahhaha me either. My toenails are always painted, all year round. And if I do my fingers, it's usually some wild colour. I only use OPI though or else it chips within a day. OPI usually lasts me a week which is quite good. I'll eventually go back to gel nails though- I loved mine. |

I do my toes and when I can get the time I love going to have my toes done with the whole spa treatment! Β But...In my job I'm washing my hands a lot and the polish just doesn't stay any time at all...and I'm too cheap to do acrylics etc.
My question for you all...does anyone have advice on how to get your nails to be stronger? Β Mine are just thin and break so easily...especially now in winter. Β I use a lot of hand lotion since I wash them so much...but man...I hate how short they are these days from breaking!
Β
Sally Hansen makes a growth formula that I really really helped mine! I got a nude shade so it made them look prettier and I LOVED IT!
I used it when I stopped biting mine and took acrylics off- I can't keep acrylics on anyways, I have commitment issues. Lol |

Location: Qld Australia | I LOVED my nails like this. They were the first nail stickers that I tried. They were hard to put on and did wear at the tips but as it is a silver background it was not very noticable. You can get the same design in black and I think honestly they would only look good for two or three days.

Idk. I wish I could keep nail polish on, but it never lasts past the first day.
And I love having fake nails. But I can't see spending $60 every two weeks or so just to look pretty. So I haven't had them done in years. |

Thanks! I will see if I can find that at Wallyworld. It sounds like it would definitely be worth a try. |

$60 every 2 weeks!? It was only $15 + $5 tip every 2 weeks for a fill in when I had mine done. |
