FirstFirewater - 2014-02-27 6:13 PM Β This is what she texted me after she spoke with the nurse. you've already learned enough of what you need to know on this thread to make your decision .......Β
as such, no matter what the retarded OB office says, you are not in a serious medical pickle....only a crazy pregnant friend pickle...

My husband never got it because he washed the crap out of his hands, and I washed mine before preparing food. Contact doesn't make it inevitable. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Oh Good Grief! Your friend is just not thinking clearly. There are far worse things she can catch touching any one thing on that trip. That aside... Maybe you can get your seat changed on the plane if she is that worried. Let her end up sitting next to some snotty germ infested stranger that likes to touch pregnant ladies bellies...that ought to make her more comfortable! |

If it was the norovirus, from puking and diarrhea, the spores can grave up to 3 feet away, you may have caught it that way.
Also the best way to prevent the spread is hand washing with normal soap for at least 30 seconds then alcohol sanitizer. |

Oh yeah, mama is always on the front lines when kid puke is involved. LOL. The bad part was I took my daughter to the dr for a UTI and she started puking in the waiting room. She had to get a shot in the butt since she obviously wasn't going to keep meds down and we exposed a bunch of poor innocents to her cooties. |

| hmmmmm I think you should text your friend and tell her you're doing her a big favor and watching out for her safety by cancelling her tickets... send her an article about how dangerous germs float around in the ventilation systems in the jets...then go enjoy yourself and see if you can get another friend to go. Lots of times tickets aren't refundable, but the cost of them (minus some charges) can be credited toward another flight within a year.
well I guess I'm being a little brat huh? ha ha.

Location: Where Governor's make the liscense plates | Β I just cancelled my returning flight for a 85 dollar fee abd one bag so out of 300 bucks I'm getting 53 back in credit. My friend thinks I'm a selfish person who doesn't care about her I've never questioned our friendship before until now... |

| I am sorry that your friend is doing this to you. I am guessing this is her first, and I thought doctors and air travel frown upon women travelling in their last trimester.
Also the norovirus will not cause harm to the fetus, but measles, and chicken pox can cause fetal demise, and I know we have had 2 measles outbreaks already this year.
I think your friend just has pregnancy brain.
I still think you should go, just don't sit beside her, and you have fun on your trip. |

I am confused........why did you just cancel the "return" flight?
I would tell your friend that IF you cancel for HER health, SHE can pay you what you are out....I don't think she is much of a "friend"........ |

Location: Where Governor's make the liscense plates | Β with the airline we used the flights are separately priced. She won't reimburse me she didn't even buy her tickets someone did for her. It's a done deal that I'm not going. I told her I am just sick of fighting and want to move past this. Told her she should appreciate me doing this she then said she did but I'm not sure how sincere that was I'm just realizing she's very selfish yet I love her to pieces we are normally inseparable friends |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | So now your "friend" will be traveling alone in her third trimester. Her choice. I'm sorry it turned out this way. But...there will be other trips. Just don't plan them with her.

| So sorry your friend is so self centered and will not even reimburse you for the money. I would still go, and stay somewhere else.
And you both could wear masks! Her especially, since is she is so worried.
