Wow, sounds very similar to me.  Getting back into riding regularly now and will be running barrels after an 8 year break when I retired my main horse.  Anyway, I'm 44 now and realizing I'm not in the shape I used to be so lots of those fears cropping up, but I'm going for it anyway!   

I lost my dad in 2009, he was only 70 and became acutely ill and died within three days of a leukemia diagnos.  I was just telling me husband that life is different now, I'm over the really painful hurt but I've realized the world is different now without my dad and my life will never the same, doesn't mean it's bad, just different.  

I live around OKC and planning on hauling my new guy to see the sights at the some jackpots this spring and summer.  Hopefully we'll get to meet at some point

I'm sure we will! I am going to Shawnee on the 30th so you can look for me if you go to that. I am the one riding the obese, excessively hairy palomino who refuses to shed until June :)
