Most people spend more time at their job than they do with their own families, if you loath going to work every day, then what is that saying about the way you are leading your life? If you are miserable at work then that is rub off on everything you do. There are jobs out there where you will LOVE going to work and it will make being away from home for those 40hrs a week worth it. Dont sell yourself short, you deserve to be treated with the same respect that you bestow upon others. Remember its not your loss, its your bosses. You are going to be MUCH better off! I pray you find an awesome job that you will LOVE! Good luck!

Congrats! you are on your way to a better life. When one door closes another always opens you just have to watch for it. No one should have to put up with Crap every day - it is called respect and you deserve it.

3ToBurn - 2014-04-02 2:05 PM It is not right for employers to treat employees like dirt, but by walking out you lowered yourself to her level.

I disagree...by allowing people in positions of power to constantly de-value you that lowers you to their level.  Walking away from that shows that you are not the victim.  You are the better person by not allowing yourself to be continually treated like crap.  Whatever kind of relationship you are in, whether it is a boss/employee, husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, whatever.  You need to have enough pride in yourself to say when enough is enough.  Allowing yourself to be bullied is the wrong thing to do.

I was not going to be her victim anymore, it would not matter if tried talking to her about it. She has her family working in the place and she has favorties too, that she would let things slide, but i had to be perfect in everything that i did and could not make mistake.

What the heck was she suppose to do, let this person keep belittling her? This is not the kind of boss that many would put up with, she did not lower herself to any bodys level.

She already know what she should have done. She mentioned it in an earlier post. I agree that the conditions appear to be unacceptable, however, it sounds like this was building over time. She could have given her two weeks notice and then left peacefully. It is the other employees that suffer from her leaving all of the sudden. That would have been the mature responsible thing to do. But I understand that hindsight is 20/20, how many of us wouldn't have done something different in our past. This is actually very minimal on the scale of important things in life, and I wish the op the best. I didn't mean it to be rude, but I did mean to be blunt. I just look at some of the posts on this board, things that used to be taboo, are now acceptable. Just an observation.

I'm a nice easy going person and i took a lot crap in this place and somethings that should never had to go through, that happened. This time i stood up for myself!! and maybe it was not the right way of doing it, but, maybe next time she has a good emplyee, she might stop and think about what she doing.

I may be the odd person here, but did you report any of this behavior to HR? Labor Board? ect?
I wish you the best but with a record of walking off the job with no prior complaints of misconduct on your boss' part may make it difficult for you to find another job.

know of a local bank that when someone gives their notice, they are escorted out and that is that. they believe that the short timer will not be productive in those two weeks and just go ahead and let them go (most are expecting the two extra weeks of pay and dont get it). so giving notice is customary, but probably not required in small businesses. only thing i would have done different - have a job already lined up before quitting. best advice ever was to never quit a job without one waiting in the wings.
good luck on your search.

I disagree with you, don't know how old you are or how many jobs you have held but sometimes walking away with NO notice is the ONLY thing to do. For example, in my situation, I watched another person (a very NICE person) give her two weeks notice and this boss made her life a "living h*ll" for those two weeks......and from her description....this boss probably would have done the same. If she was playing favorites....those other employees deserve to get a load dumped on them.....

As an employer in a small town, I would still call your former boss even if you didn't list them on the resume.  Good luck with the search.

I know what you are going threw. Good luck with the job search! Even if they do call and I know how small towns work, I am not sure they can give anything other than your hire date to your last day of employment. That is how it is for the company I work for anyway. As long as you have felt the burden lifted that is all that matters. Working in a place that causes you that kind of stress is really not worth it and it will bring you to those breaking points.

Praying for you.I almost walked out on mine a couple weeks ago I went in for a DNC but went back to work two days latter only because my co workers sit on a chair all day so I thought I could do the same but my boss yelled and yelled then gave me heavy stuff to do then he said I'm faking it which really hurt because I've been there five years and I'm the most honest person they know so as I bent down to pick up the buckets he said yep she's faking then he picked up phone and told me to call Dr said I should of been healed in two days then he slammed the vacuje cleaner at my feet and told me to vacuum so I thought about walking out but instead I just said I'm going to do as much work as everyone else till I feel better.still real hurt over it.

I did everything 'right'; gave my 2 weeks, and did as much work as I could prior so that I wouldn't leave my coworkers in bad shape. The way I was treated the last 2 weeks.... I wish I would have just left them hanging and walked out.
