hlynn - 2014-04-24 1:40 PM I've seen posts about the best things to do all over the place. Would like to see some tips in one thread, easy to search for. I'll be hauling to a 4 day show that uses concrete stalls & has a lot of pavement around period. What are some things to have/do to make it easier on the ponies?

The problem with concrete stalls is not the standing on them unless you don't bed them down.  Plenty of shavings and it's fine. TGhe problem is when horses lay down and then getting up. They will moving the shavings out of the way and can't hardly get up because the metal shoes slide across the concrete.

When we went to shows that had concrete stalls we did bed then down really well but also carried Easy Boots with us and put them on all 4's to avoid the problem of not being able to get up once they lay down. And when a horse does slide on concrete most of them panic and make the situation worse.

Easy boots from the start avoids problems.
