| Had the tie rod recalled on my 2012 3500 Dodge. They started the recall in Dec 2013 but couldnt get the parts out till April 14,2014. I know mine needs the repair but they cant fit me in this month due to the high demands in our area. I told them if I wreck my truck with my daughter in it or hauling horses then I will be knocking on the owners front door. Ive called them every week since December and Ive been a huge B*** about it. |

Location: ND--it snows, it floods, it snows, it floods | Tiff I'm guessing it's more then the tie rod issue. When it's at the dealership ask them to check out the entire front end and you might have to do an alignment as well. |

That is the plan. I know there is something not right with it. |

| How do you go on line to see if should have received a recall or not. Mine is a 2012 1 ton and the front right tire was ruined earlier this year and had to replace it and the left one has major wear on the outside only. Had a friend that bought a brand new one and his was doing the same and he made them repair his.....thinking this was back in the Fall? |

Location: La Frontera | I received the recall notice for my 2012 3500. After being on the list for months, we took the truck in to the dealership for some other warranty work and they did the recall on the tie rod while it was there. This was yesterday so I have no idea how it's driving yet. |

Location: Utah | I called to check on it and was told to bring the truck by so they could check it but then there was a good 100 vehicles ahead of us. Is it a safety recall and yet you can't fix it? Am I just supposed to park my truck? Trying hard to keep the mileage down and replace the truck so have just not used it much. |

We had it done to our 2011 yesterday. We waited several months for the parts to show up. I asked about the safety of driving and hauling a trailer. A couple of different dealers told me the same thing, you are safe when the truck is moving. The tie rod only brakes when the truck is not moving/parked and the front wheels are being turned hard either direction.
That sounds like bull to me. It will also break if you have to suddenly steer evasively like if there is something in the road, if you lose control for any reason like on a wet road, or like someone else said, making a u-turn in the middle of the street. Not to mention if you are navigating a badly paved road. |

Location: Online | What? There's a problem with a Dodge? No WAY!!!! I thought they were perfect.
I know somebody who was driving their brand new 2013 Dodge down the road and their tie rod broke. They are so lucky they weren't going any faster.
My MIL had an '06 Dodge that needed two new entire front ends before it hit 100,000 miles. |

| For those of you who have had the problem, besides tire wear were there any other things that warned you something was wrong? I have a 2012 2500. Does it matter where the trucks were manufactured...like one plant somewhere? I read where the parts probably wouldn't be available to late this year? |

Location: Got Lobsta? | I called 1-800-247-9753 and gave them the vin # and he gave me the information. Apparently there was a similar recall in 2009 which I got noticed of and checked and had no problems. He said just to stop by and a tech will take a quick look. If it needs fixing - there will be a delay. He said dealerships can only order a "limited quantity" than I would be put on a waiting list. I have a 2005 3500 4x4 with 45000 miles so it will be interesting if there is any wear and tear when I go in next week. Thanks for this post! |

I looked up recalls on my 2006 3500.. 8 of them and I have NEVER rec'd anything from Dodge to notify me!
This is what happened with our 06 3500 ... the SO moved too many times and they couldn't find him.
However, we preemptively noticed the front end being extremely loose and took it into a dealership. They did the check for us, found the recalls, and helped us fix it through Chrysler/Dodge/Ram parts etc.
To note: we have fixed and changed out the tie rods, ball joints and other front end parts every 20,000 miles on our truck (so twice now). It is used exclusively for hauling trailers with livestock and/or horses. The problem doesn't go away and after the initial first fix all the rest are out of your own pocket. We are seriously looking to get rid of this truck and buy a Chevy or GMC.
ETA- Ours is the 5.9L Cummins 3500 with duals and 110,000 miles.
