All I can say is wow. I don't know how you all do it! I struggle everyday trying to cook something for dinner for my picky hubby and son! I can't imagine having to come up with something that doesn't have grains and such in it!

RE: Paleo and Grain Free (adhd and more)
I agree that you need to go 100% gluten free to really feel the benefits. 3 days and we noticed a huge difference in my sons behavior and after 2 weeks we had a slip up
(Grandma gave him a cookie....one won't hurt right?
) and the monster was back.
At 2 and a half, my son would nap for 2 hours and wake up and cry for an hour. He wanted to be hugged but didn't want to be touched. He was irrational "walk here mom, don't walk there, here! " It wasn't a normal bossy kid, he was out of control. I was afraid for what our life might be like when he was older. He is smart, affectionate, clever and very funny and nothing connected with any "disorder".
I had gone dairy free with him while still nursing as he had blood in his poop. That helped, but in hindsight it was probably the wheat all along and going dairy free helped reduce the inflammation in his bowls. I ate less bread too since it contains milk products.
We have no problem eating gluten free at home
(its just eating healthy!
), it is going out that can be a challenge but we know where to do and what to order now in town. Eating at canteens during barrel racers can be tricky so I usually pack my own food. It is extra work, but it is worth it.
Pinterest has been a great resource for new recipes.
Here is my favorite pizza crust recipe:
http://minimalistbaker.com/the-best-gluten-free-pizza-crust-sauce/
I just use an all purpose GF flour and it is great
(used Robin Hood GF flour once and it wasn't good
).

It is actually pretty easy meat and veggies and an occasional sweet potato

Have you read this book -
http://www.amazon.com/Grain-Brain-Surprising-Sugar-Your-Killers/dp/031623480X
- The Nurse Prac I work for is big on this - we treat a lot of kids with ADHD and behavorial and its amazing how much of a difference cutting out certain things can make
Maybe try here too - they have several things that would be suitable

Thank you for starting this thread....I too have a son that is diagnosed with ADHD and at times can be difficult to deal with. I honestly never once thought to think about the foods he is eating even though I felt like we were eating somewhat healthy. This has really been an eye opener and I will definitely be more aware....Thank you!
