I have two own daughters and 2 granddaughters as well as just sold a Frenchman's Fab mare last fall. I love them my 4yo is my once in a lifetime horse. All mine are people friendly, too smart for their own good, crazy athletic, gorgeous and a tad lazy lol. They definitely have a personality all their own and IMO your not going to fight with them or cowboy them because they get pi$$ed. Never had a bucker all are laid back good minded horses. As far as being hard mouthed I wouldn't call mine insensitive but they arent really soft mouthed either. Very nice honest horses though

shopnpro - 2014-06-04 10:42 AM I have one also. She is a moody gal for sure. Stubborn, not very soft mouthed. Jumpy. Super smart though. I would say she is a bit hard mouthed as well. Sometimes when I saddle her and tighten the cinch she jumps, then when I go to lead her off to walk a few steps she breaks in two and bucks like a bronc. Then I tighten her back up, get on her and she is fine except for some jumpiness. Just had her teeth done and it did not seem to help much. She seems worst in the spring- have been wondering if its hormonal related. She is a grand-daughter of Frenchman's Guy and Doc Bar on the bottom. Maybe this is the way they are. I wish I could get something else some days....
I think Don't think you can blame Fg on this totally  doc bars can be like that as well
Sun Frost is Doc Bar bred, so Frenchman's Guy is also Doc Bar.

Sunfrost was a grandson making Fg  a great grandson

I have a mare by him and she is extremely smart but she sure of herself and will try to get away with different things if you let her. She can be a grouch and will buck in the round pen when you warm her up. She is athletic so her attitude can be overlooked due too her performance ability. The more you ride her the better she gets. She is the type of horse that needs to ride 7 days a week!

I have a grand daughter who is just like this. Very athletic, but lazy to just ride. When you run her she gets annoyed if you dont let her do her job. She will buck when first starting lope if you try and collect first. she thinks shes a princess. if you ride her everyday your good, but if you give her a few days off shes a grouch

Yes, I know. So??? I was just saying that ascribing those qualities to Doc Bar didn't make any sense, since FG is also Doc Bar bred.

I'm pretty sure mine is from blood line. Before I bough him I messaged Lance Graves on Facebook(really didn't expect him to answer) and asked him what he though of the pedigree. He answered me and come to find out he rode my babies dam until she got hurt and he said she was the hottest horse that he ever rode. I can lope one circle on Bug and his brain automatically switches to GO.
