Our best working dog's name is Hooker. Short, sweet, and super satisfying to yell when she's being naughty. Lol "Damn it Hooker!! Get your schmidt together and GO BY!!"
We also have a Pilot and a Heifer.
one of my favorites was tick ... :)
Get away tick ... go by tick, TICK G*(&$# DAMNIT!!! you get the point ...
To the OP ... sometimes they just kinda name themselves too! Like the other post said about Girl Scout! Now where are these pictures!!!??! |

Location: Finally horseback again.... | We raise and show working border collies. I always try to keep names either one or two syllables and nothing that sounds like a command. Here are a few of mine. Ben, Jewell, Ally, Jett, Reo, Jersey, Jessie, Deacon, Preacher, Rope, Ty, Cash, Joker, Cruz... Just a few. It is really hard though to name them something that they can recognize without interfering with commands. I personally love to hear my hubby yelling... d@mmittttt PREACHER!!!! LOL. |

Location: Magnolia, Texas | I've been trying to get a picture on here, but they won't email from my phone to my computer...not sure why.
Canchasier - love your suggestions. I've been trying to explain to my co workers why Smooches & Precious won't work LOL!! They don't get the concept of a working dog. I'm the only one in my office that isn't from the city!! They will be 3 weeks old tomorrow, they are so dang cute, starting to scoot around and wrestle with one another. My daughter named hers Moose, he was the biggest one and got stuck - she had to help pull him out while I was at work. I don't think I'll ever have to worry about her and boys (she's 14) that experience totally freaked her out.
I'm leaning towards Stella today, but each day I get up I've thought of another name. Kinda like Josey too (Outlaw Josey Wales). My first choise was Ellie (Ellie May from Bevery Hillbillies)
I will text the pic to someone if they can upload it for me. |

This is no joke. About 10 years ago I had a horse stolen from the barn. He pooped so much I was able to track him down. Long story short, I walked into someone's backyard put a halter on him and another one that was stolen at the same time and led them out. They guy that got arrested for the theft - his street name was Mooky!! |

This is my first ever litter. My daughters shows lambs & goats for 4H, we use track dogs to exercise them. Our dog is one of the best track dogs in Texas and lucky enough one of the other best one's is living at my house for awhile. We bred them with hopes of getting a couple more just like them. She had 7, but the runt didn't make it, it was tiny tiny tiny. So I have 6 of them living in a plastic swimming pool in my craft room. They are already trying to crawl out, I'm afraid they will be living outside when they master that. |

I have had a couple of cattle dog flunk outs that have made great track dogs. They are just not strong enough for the type of cattle we work but have all the drive to herd and work. Let me know if you know of anyone looking for one. We have them from time to time. |
