I'm not sure. He is really starting to grow on me. You wouldn't believe how easy he has been to break. I may keep him for myself.  We are breaking 3 two year olds right now and I am contemplating putting one or two in the LG sale. They are the Alazoom, the Minnie Coup de Dash filly and the Miss Splash Bug colt. I have never been to that sale and am curious about what a barrel racer would want to see a just turned 3 yo doing at that point.

sorrel horse ranch - 2014-07-28 10:00 AM I kind of just did.  I bought a 3 year old that was in the BBR sale this spring.  He didn't bring what they wanted and so they took him home.  I bought him the next day.  He is what the other people have listed.  Ties, loads, rides good in the trailer, can handle his feet easily, he loves a bath and drinks out of the water hose while taking his shower,  will come running to me when I call him from the pasture and oh he eats real well too lol.  They had hauled him to a few places away from home.  He can lope a nice smooth pattern and has a nice handle.  Just fyi I would buy another from these people any day.  Should I have bought him?  Probably not but he is the first thing I have see that wasn't priced over the moon that I have liked in probably 6 or 7 years.  Just didn't feel like I could pass him up.
Tell me more lol....pedi....pics......you know what I want lol.

You know I am computer illeterate I cannot for the life of me figure out how to post pictures.  So Ms Jennifer I will text you a picture and you can post it for me if you wish.  Sorry guys I wish I could post them.  I will also send you one of him on my back porch.  He thinks he should be with me at all times.
He is by On A Gator by Dash Ta Fame...On A Gator's dam is a daughter of On A High.
The colt's dam is Runnin Jamie by Runaway Winner and Runnin Jamie's dam is a daughter of Jim J.
Oh and when he plays in the pasture he can flat fly.

My trainer/Jockey Has a three year old by On A Gator only gray. He has the same kind of personality as yours. And can flat out fly.

I like the idea of the LG sale.  By the numbers it is the best option for quality horses.  And people are there to actually buy a horse, not just look.  The more bells and whistles the horse has the better the price for you.  I would just keep them going at whatever speed they can handle until the sale.  If that means walk in a circle or slow lope the pattern I think the effort put into the horse until the sale will really pay off.

Totally agree. I would add that it is really important to have your colt in halter shape for the sale. Pretty and fit and broke sells.

LRQHS - 2014-07-28 10:57 AM He's really, really nice, Linda. I'm so happy for you!

Thank you for posting pictures for me.  He is a hoot!
If you are wanting to sell a colt in the sale just make sure he is sale ring fit.  They had this colt on the ADM feed ..... I can't remember the name but I will look at the sack and tell you.  You don't feed much of it and I think she said it was mainly rice bran?  And also had him on alfalfa.  She told me they didn't even blanket him.
I think so many people "think" they have one shined up and looking snazzy but when they get to the sale they turn out looking like shaggy butts compared to the really fit ones.  I really don't know how to go about getting one that pretty.  I'm sure you can find someone that knows how to tell you what to do.  I'm not usually too impressed with the "foo foo" horses at the sale but I do like to look at them.  This colt just traveled so nice and seemed to be gentle it wouldn't have made any difference what his hair coat looked like.
Wish I could be there to help you!

The other thing this lady did which I think is a good idea is that she had the pretty pictures taken and then bought an ad on here telling that he was selling in the BBR sale and used one of the nice pictures in the ad.
I think as popular as Schorcho is the ads would get you more interest.
