Location: In Ky following Barrel Races & Walker hounds. | I was listening to the Louisville scanner last night on my phone... All kinds of calls about shots being fired, SEVERAL home invasions, people lighting fires in parking lots, a man walking down the road with a shot gun, one mans car was being shook with him in it, people trying to jump in cars at stop lights, ect. And I just caught it around 11 when I was fixing to go to sleep, so I didnt listen long. My husbands friend said he heard reports earlier of a groups of people walking around with machetes, all kinds of crazy stuff.... But then I read on facebook people were saying it was fake, nothing was going on, ect.
The scary thing is we live in a sick world where people find this kind of thing "fun". Louisville is about 2hrs from me, but the thought of that all going on that close hit close to home for me, you never know where this kind of thing is going to happen. I don't blame it solely on Hollywood, I know several people who can go watch a movie without feeling the need to act it out, I blame things like this on drugs, for the most part. Seems to me like drugs are eating peoples brains up so badly they can no longer distinguish real life from fiction, and they take to doing things like this.
All I know to do is pray for Louisville, and anywhere else being threatened with this "Purge" reenactment. If the calls in Louisville were fake then who is to say they aren't going to really do it tonight? Or another night?
