These mares are known for crossing well on Dinkys Red man (that's where Tiny Red Woman came from) and Jet of honor, but since both of those have been dead nearly 20 years, that doesn't work. Lol

I really like Pappasito, a lot. He's on my short list but I had a friend who had a baby by him and he didn't quite amount to what we all thought he should.
Kinda like High Rate of Return too but don't know anything about his babies brains.
Would love a Tres Seis son too..

I bought a Pappasito yearling out ofthe same mare that my daughters mare, Vegas, is out of. This filly is extremely smart, level headed and one if the nicest yearlings I've ever seen. Quick (her dam) is a hot mess and tends to throw that into her foals with the exception of the Pappi filly. I've seen about 5 Pappi babies and all have been pretty darn fancy. If your friend has a bad one, I would say it's more of a cross not working than Pappi throwing a bad one. I sure wouldn't hesitate to breed a hot mare to him based on my experience.

Firewater Ta Fame and FWOTR throws big babies. Firewaterontherocks is the absolute bomb! I have ridden three and they are all great! I wouldn't sell mine for next year for less than 6 figures!
I am running Royal and Famous. His first foal crop will hit the ground next year. He is amazing! Out of a 3 time NFR mare that produced the horse that set the new arena record at OKC and ran the fastest time for the American qualifier at Mesquite. Roy's full sister was on the cover of barrel horse news as well last year! She is 6. Roy is a solid 1D horse that has multiple 1D wins! There is NO way he can't produce!

Tres kings is a AAA son of Tres Seis and out of First Place Queen with LTE of over880,000 and is a proven producer of over a million on the track. I own him along with walker speed horse and we bought him to breed for barrel and race horses. He is 16 hands and was well mannered and didn't get shook up when we raced him. His stud fee is in your price range. First foals will hit the ground spring 2015

FWOTR and Firewater Ta Fame BOTH have stud fees over $1500. FWOTR is $3500 for 2015. FWTF's fee is also going up for 2015.

That's what I was thinking as well. What about one of the studs out of Firewater Fiesta? I haven't heard a whole lot about them.

Most of the cowbreds tend to be smaller. My guy is a son of One Hot Jose but he's the same size as the mare. Not going to get the size I would like out of that cross. He's done well on my other mares, but they are all 15.3-16.1, babies are taking after their momma's in height, but if both of them are 14.2, not much size you can get from that. Lol

I can't help it. I like a BIG horse. :)

I knew FWOTR was out of my price range and I'd heard Stitch was going up too. Thanks for reaffirming that for me. :)

As far as size, I have always heard to breed type to type. So if she is 14.2 hands, I wouldn't breed to a 16 hand stallion.

El Scorcho... I believe LRQHs is standing him next year. :) This ad is old (as in I think he is more than 500, but it has all his info and the contact info)

He's going to be inexpensive, and his babies are very very nice.

You are correct. You should breed two phenotypically compatible individuals, I'm not breeding her to a 16 hand horse but I do want something bigger.

My granddaughter of Dinkys Red Man was the most ill tempered witch of a mare I've ever been around. She was also the quickest and most althletic mare I've sat on, but I couldn't deal with her trigger finger marish-ness. One day she was fine, the next day everything would set her off. She wasn't a hot head, just spooky and marish and terrified of everything. There are some nice Dinky sons standing, but in my personal experience, I wouldn't touch another Dinky horse with a ten foot pole. They are popular around here and I've seen more of them with bad minds than ones with good minds.

Redneck Jet is a grandson of Jet of Honor and consistently produces champions and most of his babies are decent size and they sell like hotcakes.
I personally love Shawne Bug Leo, Flit to Kill, Blazin Jetolena and JL Dash Ta Heaven. I also love Confederate Leader but I don't think he stands to the public. Maybe his son, Epic Leader, would be one to consider. I don't think you can go wrong with Firewaterontherocks either.
