Location: North Dakota | Buckstitching is timeless in my opinion and always classy no matter what era we live in!! I have been saving my pennies, like a squirrel savin nuts for winter, to buy something buckstitched this year at the NFR. I'm also blessed to have a father in law that can do some pretty mean leather work and I have buckstitched spur straps on request:)

I didn't know buckstitching was a fashion from the past. I thought it was something new.

However, as has already been mentioned, the buckstitching tends to wear out and break in places of friction...i.e fenders, etc.

Yeah that's my worries. I think I'll pass on having it on my saddle. |

Dammit...I'm the same age as the OP and I know that song...listened to it MANY times...on a jukebox. Now I'm glad to know what buckstitching is.
Cowjazz....love your Pozzi saddle...if it doesn't work for you, I have a birthday coming up soon. |

| I have a Billy cook that I bought new in 1974 that is full buckstitched. I will dust it off tomorrow and take picture. I think I have ridden about 10,000 hours in that saddle. It still looks good but he buckstitching has worn in a few places. |

Location: Texas | No problem! I had the DJPro bars with the Pozzi topside. Fits everything I have used it on so far! My sons saddle is the Pro and fits a major number of back styles but I like the fit of the pozzi for me. Best of both! Love that Double J can do this! |

I still have mine from the 1970's. Silver letters too, spell my name. My daddy bought it for me in 1974 for Christmas and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I still think I need to get it out and wear it. Might bring back the fashion. |

 "Spaz-tacular"!!

Location: Bennett, CO | This makes me smile.. In the early 90's I was still using an old buck stitched saddle...It fit me and my horse.
Some fashionista Snag rode up to me, and was quite snarky.. I remember the words
"Keep riding that old junker.. maybe someday dark oil and buck stitching will come back" She had a bleached light leather saddle with silver.. that was all the rage.
LOL
I still like my old out of date tack that works |

You are telling your age, now. I still have all my colored buckstitched belts that I wore in TYRA. I wore the Lame pants, too. Like wearing and riding in a skin diving suit. Slid all over the saddle!!
