I wear mine short, wash and go.
I just use a hair gel that will hold it in place (my bangs and top of my head are a little longer).
This photo shows it in bad need of a cut.  I like it short around the face and little longer in the back.

This one, is how I normally get it cut, except I usually go a little shorter in the back.

Do I dare say it?  I'm biting my tongue, sitting on my hands, and singing the Star Spangled Banner trying to stop myself.

Not only does your face shape have a lot to do with your haircut, but your hair type as well.  Some hair types and pixies require clippers to be used on the back. If you have really thick hair, the stylists at my hair salon always recommend it. It can help it lay better. Some ladies don't feel comfortable with clippers and personally I don't care for how it looks.

Personally there are 3 products I love for styling a pixie. Tigi Manipulator, Chi Pliable Polish and Redken Rough Paste.

Awwww, thanks lindseylou.....IDK.  I'm skeered.  I've had shorter hair before and I remember liking it, but remember it being no fun to grow out.  And i'm not sure I have the time or patience to go to the beauty shop evern 4 - 5 weeks to get my hair cut.....

Murphy - 2014-09-16 8:51 AM  I am feeling restless and thought I could ease that with a new haircut. I'd like to do a pixie, completely inspired by Kaley Cuoco's new haircut. My dilemma is this.... and it may sound completely vain, but I gotta ask. Of course celebrities always look so great, but how does a woman keep her short haircut from being "butchy" looking? I have touched base with my hairstylist and said I could easily pull off a pixie, but that is my only hesitancy. I'm assuming all you would need is paste to style it?

I think there are a few ways to keep a short haircut from looking butch such possibly volume, waves, tossled look, longer in the front than the back, side swept bangs, punky, edgy, etc...not all at the same time necessarily, but you get the idea.

Look at Pink, Ginnifer Goodwin, Michelle Williams, Halle Berry, Victoria Beckham, and Jennifer Lawrence's short haircuts for ideas.

Some days I totally feel like getting my haircut really short. Last year I did...not a pixie///and I "convinced" myself to do it by donating my long hair to Locks of Love. I'll attach a picture of it. I LOVE that haircut...and it grows out nice too. Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to let my hair grow out or cut it short again (I like both ways...the ease of a short haircut is SOOO nice).

ETA: I LOVE the example you have of a pixie...if I could pull one off I would. You have feminine enough features I think you could do it.

I had something like this and had trouble styling it....   thats why I am scared to cut it again and thought maybe shorter would be easier...  it was like one side always wanted to flip out the other side under....  :-/

Your hair sounds like mine! I just either didn't curl it (except for the bangs) or I used hot rollers. :

I LOVE it!! I just got it done yesterday, so I haven't really had a chance to play with it yet. My hair stylist said I need to get a good paste and a good hairspray, which I'm hoping to get from her this weekend. It's so sassy - and I feel like it really makes my facial features stand out. Wish I did it months ago!
