| I don't have kids but if I did, they would either be homeschooled or going to a private school - AND my dad was a principal for 35 years - but that was back BEFORE public schools went to hell in a hand basket. - The "no child left behind" era was when he decided to hang it up and retire! |

| I'm a school teacher and at my school in my district we are allowing a 2nd grade transgender boy to use a special bathroom. He is allowed to dress like a girl and wear make-up as well. Thing is he is a second grader and even the girls in his class are not allowed to wear make up. He paints his nails, wears bows in his hair, etc...
We are also opening up homecoming to transgender students next year because of petitions filed this year where students felt discriminated against because they could not run for queen.
We are a small coal mining town and this sort of thing is absolutely crazy to 90% of the people in our area but we have a few extremely liberal activists and lawyers who are pushing for "equality for everyone." We've had the anti-christain league visit our town and say that we couldn't have the ten commandments up in our school. We can't pray before sporting events, teachers meetings, or anywhere on school grounds.
I understand not pushing religion to everyone. I understand being sensitive but when you are allowing an 8 year old boy to wear bows, lipstick, and wear dresses to school I feel your confusing the other children and opening up a giant can of worms.
School boards do not stand up for teachers anymore. The people in charge bow and give into parents because they are terrified of liberal lawyers who would love to just get their names in the press. |

Communism and socialism are not the same thing. We should not equivocate them. It gives liberal extremists fodder to call anyone with a conservative political affiliation ignorant. While most people who are conservative are actually against both, and that's fine, we should be careful at least to be well-informed on what is criticized and how so as not to give them fuel for the fire. This is just being responsible and well-informed. They have different issues attached to them anyway.

LOL, next step will probably do away with gender specific bathrooms. They probably already did that. Why has education gotten so stupid? This is just another in a long line of examples.
Because our lawmakers are making the decisions for us and not the educators who are in the trenches everyday and KNOWS what is needed.. Then, the teachers are the ones getting all of the flack. |

I understand that but it seems that the progressives haven't decided exactly what they want and I can see our country going either way. JMO I guess we won't know until we totally crash and we are sure on the way to self destruction. |

I had a student who wanted to use the restroom of the other gender. The district now has a young transgender student. I do not know which restroom the child uses.
