I wish there was. I'm trying to plan a schedule too be uses I decided to go from not barrel racing in 10 yrs straight to futurities lol. It's more of a bucket list thing and I probably own the nicest horse I will ever own right now. So it's now or never! Diamonds and dirt is on my list! |

When I click on the magazine nothing comes up? Do you have to pay for a subscription? |

Location: NE Texas | Maybe.....step 1, send colt to "take no prisoners" trainer/jockey for seasoning and hauling, check. Going to start with 30 days and see where we are at. I'm willing to pay nominations if Ricky steps it up. If not, at least i'll have something I can enter come spring. Yay!!!!
Somebody needs to start having some barrel races in NE Texas around Greenville/SS area. Paris even. There used to be all kinds of stuff to go to around here to get a colt seasoned and now there's only 3 pens pretty much that you can go to, and they are only about once or twice a month unless a person can get there the week nights for exhibitions, which I am unable to do. I can get them ready to exhibition with the best of them, but actually getting to the exhibitions has proved to be a challenge!

| It isn't working for me either which is too bad, I tried to open in Chrome and Internet Explorer. It is free and I normally read it each month so it usually works! The list is the most complete of futurity events I have seen. Maybe it is something on their end? |

I can't wait to hear how "Ricky" does for the trainer. VERRRRY EXCITING. Send me a pm on who you decided on. As far as barrel races around here and closer your direction I wish they would bring lots of them back, too. |

Location: NE Texas | Awww, you guys are too cool and sure know how to make a girl smile! My good friend total performance, who is also Ricky's auntie and had him in training last year when he was racing, hooked me up with a young man in her area that's a good hand and fearless and goes to 3 or 4 barrel races a week....now THAT is the combination I was looking for! HAHA We are meeting tomorrow night and he's going to get started hauling him. AND....I get to see total performance too!!!!
I'm pretty excited and think that it will be good for my colt to grow up and have someone else on him that doesn't have any emotional connection. He'll be able to ask him to do things and get him hauled like I haven't been able to. I am pretty stoked to go watch him make a run here in about 30 days....the little sucker has more talent in his left front hoof than most....now it's time to ask him to use it!
Thank you again, total performance, as always! You da best, my friend! |

Yeah!!! I am very happy you are making this leap.
I know first hand that it is hard letting someone else take the reins on your baby, but Im praying he is in as good of hands as mine are with you. Now, what color do you want next??? LOL... since you might be bored without Ricky there for entertainment!! BTW, we NEED to go ride with Kaycee, I will even supply a horse for you!! |

Location: NE Texas | It is hard, but it's necessary at this point in Ricky's training to do it. I'm unable to get to the exhibitions and this colt is ready to GO! I'm 100% confident that he will be in great hands and i'm looking forward to seeing him run a set. This young man has all the ability in the world to finish what i've got started, and I fully expect them to be a wicked combination here pretty quickly!
As for color, i'll keep the chestnut one until we can get a deal worked on her and we can go from there (cause you know I love her and want to find someone who will enjoy her as much as I have). This upcoming time change is really going to put a damper on my getting to do much riding. :(
As for Kaycee.....i'm in! We just need to figure out when we wanna go and play. Our schedules aren't messing well! HAHA Ellie would love that and would be so good for her. Jiggy can go too if she's still here and maybe we can even twist my mom's arm and get her to come play as well. |
