I think I'm going to start spiking my daughters drink when we go to a barrel race. Β She gets so nervous & that makes her horse nervous. Β I've been looking for calming supplements for her but they aren't legal in Kansas yet. Β
bahaha! those ppl in CO get all the good calming supplements!
I drink yogi bedtime tea and its like awesome stuff. I've not gotten into the oils yet as they are SO expensive but I'd love to have some lavender for bedtime purposes. |

| Young Living oils are expensive. But look into Heritage Oils or google Rocky Mountain Oils or NAN. They are cheaper but still very high quality. Read their About Us page and how/where their oils come from and are processed. I don't know anything about doTerra oils. I am going to try that tea you mentioned. I love when people share their remedies. |

I use Believe Essential Blend from YLO. It is expensive at I think over $30. for a 15ml bottle, but you only use literally a drop or two, so it will last a long time. It has helped with my anxiety when competing or when I know my horse is going to need me to be confident for him. |

I use DoTerra and I had sticker shock at first, but soon realized that the bottles will last a very long time. You only use a few drops at a time and some of the blends are to be diluted in coconut or some other oil (I use olive oil) so they really stretch out. |

That is so true!
And I can say for us, since o got really serious to using the oils I have not had to fill a prescription. When we started my daughter had such a bad UTI the antibotics were not working, we were going to have to do IV medicine. She had constant infections amd never went more than a couple weeks not on meds.
I researched the oils A LOT tried some on my self, used them on my pets and I was very confident in my decision to use them on my daughter. We are 3 months antibotics free! Our medicine is all out of pocket, and she had so much resistance built up meds were very expensive. And her natural good bacteria and immunity was wrecked from so much meds. We were at a point where modern medicine was completely failing us and had nothing to lose. We still have dr. but now have a valablue tool in our corner.
Im sure most everybody thinks im crazy and sure its hocuspocus but im amazed at our results. I just wanted share. No sales pitch or anything just very happy and wanted to share |

Location: Big Sky Country | My horse (and my friend's, blown up, making a coming back barrel horse) Loves Doterra Serenity oil. It helps calm me down too. You need to be careful putting on their nose because if they don't like the smell and you put it on the nose they can not get away from the smell. I let them just smell out of the bottle and put a drop on each side of the poll. Was at a race and my friend's horse was getting very anxious and she was talking about just trotting through the pattern in the race. ( this is the blown up horse that has been off for 3 years). I whipped out my bottle of Serenity and let her horse smell it. Next thing you know she is standing there with the reins dropped on her neck and totally relaxed. Walked in the arena and walked out. I am a Wellness Advocate for Doterra if any one would like more info Iwould be happy to help. Please be careful of just buying ANY Essential oils. Even though the stuff at walmart might say 100% Lavender oil it only has to have ( I think 10% lavender and the rest could be carrier oil. ) Just do your homework. There are also a lot of Facebook pages about essential oils and horses. Amazing how well they work. Also can help with wounds, skin conditions, colic and just about everything! Love my Doterra oils. They are 3rd party tested to be Certified PureTheraputic Grade. |

Location: Somewhere around here | After I saw this post earlier in the week I got really curious about it and I actually went to a herb and natural medicine shop in town, not too sure if they even would have pure lavender extract bottles but thankfully they did and they even had two! I was a little surprised at the price but better priced than some of the other bottles I was looking at online for the same small size. Anyway, I tried it on my horse just doing a trail ride. He hasn't been ridden for a few weeks and always seemed to get a little antsy going home. He was great!! He still had a few spots where his calm walk picked up but nothing like before and it was much easier to get through his head to just relax and walk. Can't wait to try this at a barrel race!!
I'm a believer!! |

Anyone that is really interested in Essential Oils needs to have this book. It's like a Bible for Essential Oils.

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I know a College Girl that puts RutaVala in her hands and then lets her horse smell it and she rubs it on his nose and this has worked great for her.
I have found with the essential oils there are many different oils that will work for the same thing but since each person and animal is different, you need to experiment to find which oil works best for you for the problem you are trying to address. |

| Tony Pitcock (trained Red Mans Bay) always had the best smelling horses. He swore by lavender oil. Since you guys reminded me of it, I've got one I'm gonna try it on. Thanks for the info about brands to try.

I mix frankincense and a carrier oil and rub it on my chest and if I have some copaiba oil add that too. Ijake only been doing this for 3 months so I may have to use Advair this winter since cold air with wind really sets me off. For my allergies I use peppermint/basil blend and run it over my sinuses bridge of my nose and right under my nose. For my son and husband's allergies I use a lavender/lemon/peppermint blend and rub it on their sinuses forehead and back of their neck. They sneeze and have runny noses. I get stuffy sinuses |
