I've NEVER had a bathroom where I board my horses.

I didn't know such a luxury existed!!!

My "business" gets taken care of the same way the horse's does.

Do the same thing as I tell my 5 year old:

Make sure you potty before you leave the house. If you still have to make a pitstop later, find a tree, bush, stall, or horse trailer.

Having no bathroom at a barn wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Heck, I went to ride with Molly Powell one day. I was too embarrassed to ask to use her restroom, so I peed in the trailer.

Oh this made me giggle.  I carry a separate bucket in my trailer in my dressing room just for this occasion.  I will go in the back but most of the time I can't keep the trailer door closed so I just go up in the dressing room.  I have non-horsey friends that can NOT believe people potty outside.

My barn is AT MY HOUSE, and I still pee/poop in the stalls. It is sheer laziness. My house is uphill from the barn, and I don't want to have to start/drive the fourwheeler (cause I sure as heck ain't walking...). I just keep a roll of cheap (biodegradable?) TP in the barn and do my business. I kick some shavings over it and it goes out with the horse poop when I clean the stalls. :)

We actually do have a bathroom at our place ... I use it more for putting warm water in my alfalfa pellets than I do to go potty. I usually just pop a squat in the stall.

Thanks for the advice. Dunno where else I could have asked this.

I actually did pee in a stall each time we've been there. There are a couple empty stalls on the other side of my horse, so I went there & popped a squat. But my friend was really worried, she thought it was too noticeable that I peed on the ground & dropped a tissue.

She spent the whole time hopping around, holding it. Any way to convince her its normal?

We went to see the horses again this evening. After a sweet tea on the drive there, that empty stall never looked better. Literally no hestitation to pop a squat there. Guess I'm getting used to it.

Any advice how i can convince my friend its normal to pee in the stall or outside? She made us leave early in search of a 'real bathroom' and that was stupid?

Seems weird to me that she won't just go in a stall. Do they have shavings? Maybe she doesn't like the splash

The stalls with horses have alot of shavings, of course. The empty one its mostly just cement, with a little shavings left over or from the stall next door. But i've peed there and it wasn't that bad. Maybe I'll just give her an ice tea and refuse to leave??

My last 2 places I boarded didn't have a bathroom (at a residence). Just pee in a stall. If you need to do #2, drive to the nearest convience/fast food place.

I never leave the house to do outside things without a few paper towels, tissues, or tp in my pocket. Freaked my hubby out the first time I peed outside. He couldn't believe I traveled prepared and wasn't shy. Lol

The barn I board at is a mile down the road for #2s but as for needing to pee, there's a few empty stalls.

With the winter weather coming up, you only think you are cold. But drop trousers to piddle, and pull your pants ect back up and your bunns never felt warmer...lol

Lived on a remote ranch for 22 years........and now I work in the oil patch.  You do NOT want to utilize the various porta potties.............trust me on this one.

Rode with a new guy last week, I was driving.  About three in the afternoon, he said, I sure wish there were bathrooms out here.  I told him there were millions of mesquite trees......and that I had gone twice and he didn't even notice.  Seriously, who cares?  Be discreet and tend to your business.

My one sister came to visit and our way to the coast she commented on how there weren't any bathrooms. I pointed out the window and told her the whole world surrounding us was a bathroom and she didn't want to actually go in a South Texas bathroom...LOL

In that case better wear an undershirt that could double as tp if the situation arose.....
Are just buy a port-a-potty and leave in back of a trailer.

This is what I was thinking.  Those little porta potties are great, or you could just keep a big bucket with a seat on it in the trailer.

Not sure if anyone listens to Bob and Tom, but I typically listen to them on my way into work.

The topic today was peeing outside. The question came up as to when the last time you peed outside was. I was shocked that a lot of people said it had been years.

I do it on a daily basis, no biggie to me!! Sometimes I would rather pee outside then in some bathrooms.

Don't forget toilet paper and a coffee can with a lid to keep the toilet paper in!
