Madbum has been this way since he came up to the majors.  He was the youngest pitcher ever to win a World Series game at 21 when they beat the Rangers.  He has been a force to be reckoned with for 5 years now but has always been overshadowed.  This year he was overshadowed by Kershaw (who, by the way, cannot win in October to save his life).  It was finally time for him to have the spotlight on him and it was well deserved.  And don't worry about him staying humble. Our country boys have stayed humble for 5 years and I doubt that changes...and we have a lot of country boys on our team.

As a season ticket holder (who got to go to my first World Series game this year-woohoo!!!  Two actually), and a lifelong FANATIC, this was awesome.  I can't say I am a baseball fan.  I will never use that term.  But I am a forever GIANTS fan.  I love the boys, I bleed orange and black and win or lose, the boys are forever in my heart.  And if you haven't been to AT&T Park to see just how much we love these guys, you are missing out.  NO PLACE is better.

Our CEO and GM both got choked up this year.  They didn't in 2010 or 2012.  I think that says a TON about how much of a family we are.  Hunter Pence is the epitome of a Giant.  You should see how open he is in the city with everyone.

I can't say enough about the Giants organization.  I live in texas now but baseball season makes me miss Cali in the worse way.  Well not Cali, but AT&T Park.  It is our second home.

I know my FIL helped orchestrate this from upstairs.  We asked him to get it done for us and he did.  Even Year. Particles. Orange October.  Thanks for the memories guys...

PS-my hat is off to the Royals.  Their time to shine is here and I have no doubt they will take advantage of it and bring the love that us Giants fans know and live for.  They have a legacy in the making and they worked hard for where they were.  A great series for everyone to enjoy.

As a young woman I picked my teams by who had the best looking 3rd basemen, LOL!!! So I'm a old Royals and Philllies fan (George Brett and Mike Schmidt baby!!!!) Royals should be beyond proud of their boys...90 feet...you came up 90 feet short of tying it and sending it into extra innings. BUT I will give it to Baumgarner...that dude is CLASS. When a 25 year old man realizes you have all winter to "rest" and your team could use another 5 innings out of you, this is what you dreamed of your whole life, and takes the ball on the mound and gets it done like he did. My hats off to you. Sorry, S&T, if it had been Lincecum or Zito a few years ago I would have PUKED!!!! LOL!!!

Good analogy for Madison Bumgarner.  He is beautiful.

I loved a  second baseman back in high school.  Bobby Richardson, New York Yankees second baseman back in the 60's.  Cute as a button.  He didn't even know I was dead set on marrying him.

He went and married someone else.  Crap!!!

When MadBum made his entrance on to the field on game 7 the crowd literally took a collective deep sigh.   He sucked the oxygen out of the stadium.    As the inning ticked down we knew we had no chance with this guy.   He is simply incredible.

The Royals play with heart and passion.     The fans at the post season were true baseball people.   I didn't see one punk kid but saw alot of grandma's and grandpa's and an occasional kid lucky enough to come along.

Thanks for the memories Royal's.  It was a heck of a ride and we enjoyed every minute of it.

It was a great series & the Royals brought baseball back to life in our city.  I took my son to the Royals Rally yesterday & over 8,000 people showed up to support their players.  Only 157 more days until opening day.

On a side note, I'm glad it's over because if I ever have to listen to Joe Buck announce a game again it will be too soon.

lol-then you have only listened to him once.  We have had to deal with him three times...and this was the best he has done those three times, if that tells you something.  He is HATED in SF.  HATED.  That Reynolds guy really helped this year.  REALLY.  Seriously, when he comes to SF, fans make signs for him.  And they aren't nice.  But I actually didn't think it was nails on a chalk board this time around. The other two guys lessened the blow for sure.  When McCarver was in there too, OMG.

The parade is today.  My dad and stepmom flew in to SF last night (they have been in Itally for the last 6 weeks) and they aren't even staying!!!  I gave my dad a piece of my mind.

I don't have a link to it, but if any of you want to know just what kind of man Madbum is, someone did an interview with his dad right after he won it all.  It is a great piece.  I am sure you can google it.  The funniest part was when he called Madbum after game 5 and madbum was pumped and he said, "Yeah but remember, you went 0-4."  lmao!!!  In case you didn't know, Madbum has two grand slams this year.  He can swing the bat too.

I don't count opening day.  My number starts with when pitchers and catchers report.  Unfortunately, SF NEVER posts when that is until the very last minute so I have to estimate.  Fan Fest is usually the 1st or 2nd weekend in February and then the boys head down within that week.  So I will say we have about 110 days left until pitchers and catchers report.  That's a long time in my world....

You know, being a catcher and seeing the way a ball moves with different pitches, I feel it gave me an advantage at hitting.  I could read the other pitchers laces and pretty much know what pitch she threw at me, but it only worked if her pitch worked... if she threw a curve but it didn't curve, it can bite you in the butt.  I would think pitchers would have this same advatage for hitting as well.

I don't mind Joe Buck at all. The guy is pretty knowledgable, and he is a pretty good announcer, as far as I'm concerned. Not many announcers can call a baseball and football game equally well, but Buck does both pretty well. His dad, Jack Buck, was a one-of-a-kind. I'll never forget his calling the 1991 World Series between the Twins and Braves, especially when Puckett hit the home run in the bottom of the 9th in game 6: ".....and we'll see you tomorrow night!"
Tim McCarver may have irritated some, but as someone who has coached baseball at every level, including college, McCarver brought a level of knowledge of the game and the strategy involved that I appreciated. Most average fans don't fully appreciate that.
Hats off to the Giants and Royals. This year's series did a lot of good for baseball. I am optimistic that America's pastime is on the rise, thank God.

Hotbear, my issue is the lack of knowledge to specific teams.  If you don't know, don't try to know.  They misquote or say something that is very untrue ALL OF THE TIME.  And quite frankly, compared to our guys, they are boring.  We have THE BEST announcers.  I can't imagine baseball without the liveliness we get from Krukow, Kuiper, Flemming, and Miller. Or the KNBR cast (Murph and Mac in the morning is all I listen to in the morning-gets my day started).

And Gail-lol, he is locked up for another 5 years and my guess is we will be making sure his career ends in SF like we have made sure to do with a lot of ball players (including the 10 year contract to Posey).  Once a Giant, always a Giant.

eta: when he is in Cali for baseball, he tends to be found around ropers.  He was at two rodeos that I know of this year alone.  And he has his own ranch in South Carolina...

There was a stat going around that Kershaw was going to be owed $150MM next year.  Verlander $180MM.  Madbum will get $52MM.  Yeah, he probably needs a raise...

MadBum's contract won't let him rope - I am almost certain.

Royals don't have the budget for a Mad Bum.   But look what they got in Ventura!  Wow- that kid is awesome.
