Have you tried Ranitidine? Get it from the vet....scoop morning and night...Administer it orally by putting it in syringe with small amount of water...this way you know he is getting the ulcer medication. then once he is eating (typically after 5 days of this medication) you can mix it with his grain.

We have a young that developed gastric and hind gut ulcers. After treatment with Ulcergard we kept him on two qt plain yogurt daily. He loved it,looked and felt great.

I keep some on hand at all times!! Bottle in the barn, house, and trailer. The cost is low and the results are good.

Only Ulcergard/Gastrogard are FDA approved to cure ulcers.  After you do a 30 day treatment then I think it's good to use any of the different brands of ulcer preventatives.

Thank you all so very much for the prayers and the suggestions.  It means a lot. It's brings tears to my eyes to see how many BB's care...

I have been in touch with a fellow BB on here (getacheck) and she has gotten me a tube of Animal Element ITZ paste that I am going to try. (So Thankful for her and her kindness! God sure did use her today to bless me and my horse and I'm thankful she listened to his guidance in assisting me.)

He was worse this morning. Absolutely no feed was touched and no hay or water was touched. He was standing in the corner of his stall stretching out his neck, back hunched, and head up and out moaning. He would then put his head into a neutral position and grind his teeth working up spit to swallow. After a few minutes of this and swallowing the spit he would start to stretch out again and moan.

I'm at my wits end. Vet said he will try and work me in saturday. I can't pay emergency pricing for the Vet as payment is due before treatment.

Getacheck has put me in contact with a mobile vet whom I am about to phone. We think he may be impacted at the front of his stomach. I am hoping he can help.

I'll update you all soon. It isn't looking good....
Please continue to pray for him. he has more sentimental value to me than anything I've ever owned. Please pray for The General.

Prayers for you and your horse. Temporary fix we have used is pepto bismal and plain yogurt. Believe we gave 10cc of each in big syringe or you can mix together. I also give this to my dog when she has had a belly ache. Ask your vet first.

I would look at putting him on Forco since this is an ongoing issue. I highly recommend Total Health Enhancement's GastroPlus. I would call and talk to Bob and see if he can help you out.

jake16 - 2014-12-06 2:30 PM THINKING OF YOU AND PRAYING ALL IS OK.

Thank you Jake16. I appreciate all the prayers and thoughts you guys. My SO and I were talking tonight about BHW and how much help and support we and Mr. Lee have gotten. We said a prayer for him tonight before we went to feed again and I'm still praying now.

Still grinding his teeth and slobbering but he is nibbling at his feed. He ate  a full metal 2lb scoop of beet pulp with his medicines in it. He responded well to the ITZ paste and I'm hearing gut sounds and he is pooping so I didn't call the vet yet.

He has eaten about a quarter of a square I coastal and noticed when the mare was being let into her stall and nickered at her.

Still not out of the woods yet but I hope we will be soon.
