| They are a great tack and saddle and everything place :) They rep several different brands of saddles too ... I ordered one about 3 weeks ago, we tried what felt like a million on my horses, decided what worked best on my horses, and ordered me a new one with that tree in it.

Ditto. Russ probably has 300 new & used saddles in the store so its easy to throw several on a horse and decide what works & what doesn't. Then in addition, they can order custom-made R Bar B saddles (I believe with a variety of trees.....someone was telling me they ordered one with Pozzi tree recently and I think mine has a Scott Thomas tree). Russ is hard to catch in the store - I usually have to call 3 or 4 times before I get to talk to him and he's not great about returning messages so you have to be persistent. :) |

Location: North Dakota | My sister has a JBN that I have ridden in quite a bit when I didn't have a saddle to fit my horse. I wouldn't buy one just because I am a bit too heavy for a treeless (I kept our rides fairly short and kept posting to a minimum and he didn't get sore, but I wouldn't risk it for the long term). I love the fact that you really can feel all your horse's movement beneath you. It felt odd/just a bit insecure the first ride, but after that I adjusted well and didn't feel any less secure than a tree'd saddle. I love how deep it is too. My sister, who is smaller and more agile than me, finds it comfy but would prefer a slightly shallower seat so she can get more forward. The one con for both of us is that it puts your feet farther forward than I like. I want my feet right under my hips. My sister prefers that as well, but for her horse's sake puts up with it. On both horses we have never had a problem with it slipping. We use a back cinch (but you could probably get away without one) and a breast collar with a mohair cinch. We both used a 3/4" wool felt pad with a blanket over the top. A thicker pad would make it too narrow for the boys' wide shoulders. As far as quality goes, I know people say Circle Y has gone down hill, but I really don't have to have the fanciest leather as long as it holds up. So far the saddle looks pretty much new and is actually quite nice looking. |

Location: Feeding mosquitos, FL | I went treeless after yeeearrs of struggling with saddle fit issues. I started riding a lot of different horses and couldn't find a treed saddle to fit both them and me. So rather than buy and keep a herd of saddles, I bought two Jackies, one regular and one wide. And they are perfect. I don't get the "trapped" feeling like I do in Bob Marshalls, the seat doesn't collapse towards each other like the BMs, my feet are in the perfect spot and out of the 10+ head that I've had them on in the last two years, no soreness issues.
I do shim them sometimes depending on the horse and how they're built. For example, my colt is filling out and I recently switched him to the wide fit. It fits through the loin and down the back but his shoulders and withers haven't quite gotten there yet. So I shim the front so the saddle is sitting level and not heading downhill and pressing onto his shoulders.
Love my Jackies. Best thing I did. |

Location: God's country...aka TEXAS | I had a TF treeless and I loved it. But unfortunately they load up all of your weight on your horses withers and ends up making them sore. No matter how they say the weight is distributed evenly - its not, because there is no tree. So I sold mine and went back to a regular saddle and my horse is never sore now. |
