SG. - 2014-12-15 7:40 AM I have numerous horses that this has worked on .  This is yesterdays story.  Found this leg like this.  Wrapped with PHT Tendon wraps with the Saratoga banadages over them and this morning I had this.  She was almost non weight bearing yesterday and today no lameless.  She will continue to stay penned up and wrapped.  I changed nothing.  No meds no poultice no nothing  Just wrapped
THat looks like a seriously bowed tendon. Ouch

Yes it is

This looks like my guys leg. I have a thread on here with pictures of his. Are the BOT quick wraps or regular wraps better for these?

To the OP, where are you located? UT Knoxville does rehab for $85/day including board (which I can't afford lol) or I believe around $50/ treatment if you haul in. I plan to go to The Jaeckle Center in Thompson Station, TN. Everyone I know goes there and says it is wonderful! Not sure where exactly you are though.

Personally I don't feel they are as I don't want heat constantly reflected back into a torn tendon   I want the benefits of the magnets and to reduce the swelling   I had a gelding a few years ago cut his back tendon  vet missed it   Droppe down and was terrible looking   4 months of tendon wraps ultrasound showed complete healing with no scar tissue  and is 100% sound still many years later

NOT a UT fan after wasting thousands (literally 5k to be exact) and them missing not 2 but 3 horses annnnd they are not a fan of me because I voiced my opinion of them LOL So I'd rather pay a bit more and know 100% what is join on instead of guessing and having to go here and there for second opinions. They want to do an MRI on everything when Dr. Hopper can look and see the problem in their gait and then ultrasound or x-ray and show me the problem. No lameness locator needed most of the time.

I've heard of the one in Thompson Station but i'd rather keep him at home and game ready, soak with runners relief, and poultice though I think.

I use THE NutraWound and it has never failed me. My horses always come back fantastic. I would continue with the cold hosing or icing and time off.

All I really know about tendons is don't get back on too early.  If you re injure it, you are looking at permanent damage happening.    I know someone who has a good mare that has some tendon damage.  Just turning her out for a year.
