So very sorry for your loss of Ruth. Loosing a 4 legged member of the family is never easy and extremely difficult. There are no words to ease the pain. Know that you did absolutely everything you could and went above and beyond what most would or could do. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. The prayers and best wishes are much appreciated. I can honestly say I really miss her and I will for a long time. She was to turn 4 in 2015. Had the biggest heart I have ever come across. The most honest animal. I just knew she was going to be my ticket. She gave me 200% up until the last time she collapsed she was very tired. We got her up one more time and I promised her I would fix her or make it stop. I feel like I let her be in pain too long but I guess everyone feels that way after something like this. I just need to remember the other 4 still need me and it wasn't my "only child" of the bunch. She is in no pain now. I just wish it didn't happen. Oh well, thank you thank you thank you for all of the support. I'll put on my big girl panties tomorrow. Tonight I think I'm allowed to cry. Goodnight all. Thanks again.

Ruth was larger than life. Did we make her suffer to long, yes, did the vets tell us they can't find a reason, an she should be ok, yes. They put us on an emotional roller coaster. We did all we could with the info we had. Do I feel anger and discourage towards them YES. But we did all we could for her. We have 4 more that love an depend on us. In the end, I can say we did all we could do for her. No regrets. This will take time for us to heal. But we will move on.

Do NOT beat yourself up second guessing her treatment. Colic is so tough, we do the best we can and hope it works. Have a good cry
(or 10
) and pick up the pieces.
