I don't like medicines either, but birth control is one I'll take any day of the week. I've been off of it trying to get pregnant for two years now. I made an appt with my gyno at the end of this month to get back on it. My body has been a wreck without out. I'm counting down the days till I can get my BC. It's worth it in every aspect.
Medicines shouldn't scare you, just be mindful of what you take.

also changing my diet and exercising regularly has really helped me. I've noticed I'm more motivated and focused at work. I'm enjoying my horses again, and I am not a weepy little turd every thirty seconds for no good reason. It was really creating a lot of problems in my personal life because I couldn't regulate my own attitude. I focused on what I was putting in my body and the negative effects it had on me and now I'm like this girl! > minus the outfit though ;) >>>

Go walking, jogging everyday for 20 - 30 minutes and see if that helps. I'll bet you notice a difference :) I'll have to try that... I know riding helps, but as said before, can't always swing riding in my work schedule.
Even if you can't ride, try exercising.....treadmill, sit-ups, jump rope.....just do some cardio. IF that doesn't help, then proceed.

Loving the hair!!! And I can't really make my diet any healthier ... yes I eat a cookie once a while, but definitely not every day... I have been able to ride more than usual.. ( until now with snow )

second this!
The winter really depresses me. When I leave for work its dark. When I get home it's dark. Getting to ride helps for me - but those days are fewer during the winter due to the cold or sloppy ground (or both). I went last night and spent an hour grooming my mare in her stall even though it was too wet to ride.... Try to find something that brings your spirits up and make more time to do those things. I've also been walking on breaks/lunch at work when I can (outside or around the building) just to break up the day. Hope things get better!

| Don't discount your hormones! How old are you? Could it be Perimenopause? I hate to go there, but have been through this recently.
I went through a period of time where I would be fine one minute, then a road apple would fall off of my manure fork and I would fly in to a complete rage and it would RUIN my day. Now I was never one to get mood swings or PMS ( with the exception of one day between periods where I would cry at the drop of a hat.....guessed I was ovulating on that day), so I just didn't get the whole PMS thing, thought it was an excuse. Until my rages. I managed to keep most of them private but when I got to the point that I couldn't stand MYSELF, I realized how hard it must be on others. I tried a supplement called Menopause Essentials which helped tremendously, and yes I was going through the change.
It wasn't until I found myself going on Hormone Replacement as I needed to SLEEP (something they don't tell you about), and I had to take Progesterone for 10 days every three months that I fond out just how much hormones can affect you. Hello rages! Big time! The first time was the worst, the effect is finally wearing off.
I am not saying that Progesterone in particular is your problem as it is known as a calming hormone but not how it affected me, just saying that hormone imbalances can affect fair. Compare it to testosterone filled rages. I too, have been offered antidepressants for a variety of reasons, from ongoing constipation to Fibromyalgia. It seems to be the go to, cure all these days.
I formally apologize to all of you women out there that suffer from PMS. I believe you now. To the OP, keep searching and find something that works for you. It can mean keep changing doctors until you can find one that really LISTENS to you, to supplements, to exercise, yoga, meditating to essential oils. Hugs to you an good luck!

Everything she said!! Hormones can play heck on your mind and body! I do the bio-identical hormone therapy, but I had a hysterectomy at an early age too. Works great for me! Jigsaw magnesium saved my life too! Try some!

I was exhausted constantly, moody, hair falling out, ect. Turns out I didnt produce any hormones at all. They started me on bioidentical hormones and the difference is drastic.

I'm 19 ha... But this has been progressing since I was 18 or so maybe. I had issues at 16, got better in the middle of 17. But turned 18 and it went south fast.

Location: Texas | Ditto on the hormones. I started losing my hair so I went to a traditional dr AND a homeopathic docotr. The traditional dr did extensive blood testing and of course the results came back stellar (I knew they would) but hello! Something was out of whack for sure.
Anyways, my hormones were all jacked according to the test by the homeopathic doctor. He said I wasn't as bad as most women that have had 2 children but definitely needed some help. I ended up with TEN different homeopathics I took 3 times a day for about 8 weeks. I didn't even know I was moody and one day I was driving and I thought "you know, I haven't been irritable in a LONG time." I went for follow up testing and I was at much better levels. It's a very gradual process because you're not taking a synthetic and BAM, now you have hormones.
I encourage anyone, especially those with children (since pregnancy takes quite the toll hormone-wise) to go through this process. If I'd explained my moodiness (which was mild unless you ask my husband)to a GP, she may have tried to prescribe some kind of antidepressant totally masking and medicating an underlying issue.

you're body is going through changes, your life is changing, you've probably got new pressures added on from traditional growing up... don't be to hard on yourself and find some spiritual fulfillment :)
RVet is on point about hormones and all that it encompasses.
If you're considering BC to kind of iron out your emotions, I'm on tri-linyah and have noticed i'm much calmer, i have no weight gain, it doesn't mess with my stomach. something to think about
best of luck!!

I have no motivation at all, I'm sad/angry/emotional more often than not, short tempered with the hubby and kids, no desire to ride, etc. Mine usually occurs monthly for a couple of days (PMDD), but has been constant for the last couple of months.
I finally called my obgyn crying for help. He prescripbd Celexa. Supposedly, I could take as little as half a pill only when I felt I needed it. I was so anxious to have some relief, but three days on the meds and I quit. I had every side effect listed (nausea, dry mouth, heart racing, hands trembling, head aches...) Now, I'm almost more discouraged b/c I feel like there's no light at the end of this dark tunnel.
But, maybe it could work for you??? Worth a try, maybe? At least a consult with your physician?
Wish I had other tricks or tips. I'll be reading anxiously with you! Celexa is not meant to be taken one day and not the next. It is meant to be taken daily and after about a week to 10 days the side effects you described wear off. Lexapro is another antidepressant and has less side effects
I honestly wouldn't recommend lexapro....while it did make me happier....when I took the pills, it made me feel like I had a horrible hang over and the side effects did not go away.

| After you get your diagnosis, you might research alternative therapies. I was having unexplainable rages and by accident I no longer have them or some other health problems. Traditional western medicine was of no help. | |
