Location: In my own little world | My son wanted to take the LQ to college and my answer was no, notta, isn't going to happen. It took me until I was 45 years old to get one and I worked hard to pay for it. If he wanted to pull one to college rodeos he was more than welcome to see if he could get financed to purchase one on his own. Otherwise he was more than welcome to take the bumper pull. Needless to say, he took the bumper pull and was happy to have it! |

| My boys never got to take the living quarters trailer to school. Nor do they get to take it to rodeo's now. They have a stock trailer and they did just fine. Dont worry about what other people have. If you pull in and kick butt, they may want what you have..ha ha |

Location: Buffalo, TX | This is funny...don't worry about it....go with what you have and do your best....I have parents by the dozens come in during the IFYR wanting a "college" trailer that are willing to spend $20k or more.....and then I had the father who told his daughter he would only buy her a bumper pull because he didn't want her pulling anything with a "BED" in it....LOL....most parents want a cheaper $10-15k used small weekender 4H that a few kids can pile in and share fuel...I know that's a scary thought.... |

| I started in a 2 horse inline bumper pull when I was away at college. Sold it and moved to a 3 horse aluminum bp. Worked out a deal and upgraded to an older 4 horse hart. LOVED that trailer. But we needed a down payment for our house and land so I sold the trailer. Trust me I was SAD. I told my husband that I would have another aluminum trailer again. I have been pulling a SMURF blue 2 horse bp Calico. Best dang trailer I have ever had. I LOVE that little thing. Ive stayed in it for weekend shows. Takes some ingenuity but it works. Yesterday he surprised me by telling me he has bought us a 3 horse CM. Said he found it for cheap. Im most excited about having a rear tack!!!!
Don't let not having a 50k trailer get you down. Atleast you don't have a note :) That's what I kept telling myself about smurfy. Its paid off and pulls like a dream. Plus I can whip that little trailer in anywhere. |

Right there with ya!
My trailer was free for a reason, some welding hours, tires, packed bearings, replaced floor, more welding, duct tape and of course more duct tape add in a few random pieces of wire and one freezing night spent underneath it completely rewiring it and we are (somewhat) road worthy!
Do I get looks when I roll up to a college rodeo practice with my free trailer old pickup and $9 dollar horse? Yes but I'm just glad to be there learning and experiencing |

If that is whatΒ you have, that is what you take.Β Don't be worried about it.Β It is not the trailer but what you take out of that trailer that makes theΒ difference.Β

Location: Bastrop, Texas | I think every college girl who rodeos should have their daddies buy them a trailer with a LQ. It's a good investment. If your daddy can't afford a LQ trailer, then get a loan at 9.9% interest. It's an investment in your future. If you can't get a loan and your daddy won't buy be for you, then you probably have no business going to college. |

Exactly. If you are going to college to rodeo, but your daddy won't get you a LQ trailer, then you shouldn't go to college. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I was one of those college kids with a big-ass LQ trailer. First off, they were cheaper back then. Second, I went to a 4 year university where I had a full ride scholarship and it was close enough that I kept my horses at home. My PARENTS (mainly my mom) hauled my butt everywhere I went and that trailer was actually for their comfort. They didn't trust me to behave...go figure. When I graduated college, I sold my car, bought the trailer from them with payments that included 5% interest, which was nice of them considering a bank loan would have been 7.5%, and then traded it for something smaller that I could pull with my 3/4 ton work truck.
I was too busy with my own life to care about what anyone else was pulling, but some of the guys at school teased the crap out of me. LOL |

I have a 92 Keifer 16' stock. As long as my horses are SAFE and it gets me to A to B, perfect. I bought it cash when I was 19. Still proud & I don't have a trailer payment :P
