Very interesting, had a horse fall in the pasture a couple of winters ago, knew he fell because of the mud/snow on his side, pretty beat up.  I gave him banamine for a couple of days and massaged him with a golf ball.  He too was "twitchy painful"  and half crazy when he came in.  This is pretty normal for this horse, there doesn't seem to be a winter when he doesn't do something dumb and comes in packing a leg!  Banamine is our friend.....

Yes, it sounds like he should make a full recovery! She told me to try to keep him calm for the next 3-4 days so we don't cause his nerves to reignite, and we may need to do an additional treatment as a follow up, but she's confident that he will be fine!
