Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I just started it a week ago for a 22 yr old gelding and 40'ish pony. I am very happy with it. The pony is gaining weight and he loves it. I add it to his mush. The 22 yr old doesn't need any weight but he still thinks he needs grain when everyone else gets some. He loves the taste. |

Location: Kansas | 23 and 28 years olds........pasture ornaments. Both love it but I do mix Omolene 200 with it as they get bored with the taste sometimes. Kind of like if we were on straight oatmeal I guess.

Location: MI | I feed it to our 28yo gelding (that my daughters still ride, so I'm trying desperately to keep weight on him!). I do feed it with oats and some beet pulp (I know it also has beet pulp in it), and he also gets grass pasture, hay, and alfalfa cubes. I did the feed analysis website and it seemed to analyze well with this combo. |

Location: Arkansas | I put my 20 year old on it because of his age and I didn't love how he looked on Strategy. (Topline, etc) I had my 36 year old on Purina Sr feed already, and after doing a lot of research on the Active, I switched him because it's higher calories. They love the taste, and I am so happy with the way they both look. I love it!! |

Location: Minnesota | I'm glad this thread came back up. I used to feed ADM SeniorGlo to my big guy and really liked it but felt I needed to switch too. I went with Purina Senior and I have to say I haven't been the happiest with it. I feel like I feed more and I'm fighting to keep weight on him for the first time. I just pulled up the stats for both feeds and I will also be switching to Active Senior. I have been riding my 20 year old more and even considered getting him back into shape and going to some races. Glad to see this! |

| People seem to be happy with the active ! I like the higher fat / calories it has vs the regular senior .. 300 more calories per lb & 5 % more fat |

I've never fed regular Purina Senior. I never thought it had the fat I wanted. I was very happy with ADM and how my horses looked, until the monosin poisoning deal. Now back to finding feeds that work for all my horses. I don't grain a lot as far as volume. I drive out and check the broodmares and give them some to keep them coming to me, the ones I have in riding just get a dab to put THE Muscle Mass in and then the old guys actually get some to help with their weight. When I saw the Senior Active I figured it was worth a try. So far so good. |

Thanks!! Maybe Ill try it...my 23 year old is on regular senior. He can eat hay, it takes him a while (he started quidding) but he also has access to grass for a few hours daily. He still isnt where I want him. I dont like the idea of feeding alot of grain (my other horses get Renew Gold).
I wonder if Tractor Supply can order it for me and how much it costs. |

The super old pony can eat hay and is on pasture from about 5 pm to 7 am. Then they have a grass hay bale. He does quid his food though. Missing several molars. So I add the Active to his mush in the am. Just to keep the weight on him. It's just so hard to get them at a good weight once they lose it. Easier to just maintain it. I think he has picked up quite a bit this past week-10 days. |
