mreklaw - 2015-02-19 1:02 PM casualdust07 - 2015-02-19 9:04 AM I love both of those horses Tiffani has let her run <3. The palomino gelding is the coolest horse. He's been in the NRS catalog with Sherry before. He will literally go to the barrel race, win the 1D, then her son could trot/lope the 7 and under without being led. And Atlas is just an incredible athlete. Talk about our local competition at home.. LOL. Tiffany never owned Atlas. She was just riding for the Friedkins. (whom Sherri has very strong ties with due to her helping their daughter when she was riding. )
Tiffani never claimed to own Atlas but she did own the palomino Star Figure aka Jud that Lauren is talking about
I never said Tiffany claimed to own Atlas, I just thought it was funny that Lauren said she "let" Sherry ride him. Knowing how long the Friedkins have sponsored Sherry, way before TS. Tiffany did very well with Atlas. It's also very cool to hear who started him. |

Location: North Dakota | I LOVE hearing the background on where these great horses come from and whose hands all played a role in getting that horse to where he/she is. I know when I see big pros like Sherry and Brittany running my first assumption is that they trained those horses but it is surprising to find out how very few of the horses they run they actually trained (or started on the pattern). Now I am not saying they didn't do any traning, fixing, tuning, etc. PLEASE don't take this as saying anything bad about anyone because I am not! I just love hearing the background on these horses and finding out where and who they came from. The horses could have their own show! For instance, the horse Jane Melby just purchased and is currently running that got 2nd at the The American semi-finals was owned, trained, and ran by my best friend Molly Otto before being sold to Layna Kight and then was sold back up north to my other friend/vet Fonda Galbreath who then sold her to her friend, Jane. In fact I "owned" that horse for a day. Molly and I had a plan to partner on her when she purchased her at a sale but once we got her home Molly and her husband decided that they wanted to keep her, so the little bit I had into her got bought out. :) It is awesome to see that horse go on and do such great things. I can't wait to see her running down the alley of the T&M! Interesting fact....that mare was sold to us as "open" but she was huge so we figured she must be bred and sure enough a few months later she had a filly. Molly then bred her again 2 years ago, so that mare has had two fillies and is just starting to really make a name for herself in the arena. So mommies can do it! |

I think, the horses name is Atlas Peak, April Yeager has a video of Sherry running him on her fb page.

Tiffany let Sherry run her horse JUD (Tiffany's) for about 6 months last year as a back up horse......that is what she is talking about NOT Atlas. Having just ridden Atlas around I will tell you he is one cool dude and has always been my favorite....you can just feel the power....He has quiet the personality and was fun to haul last year when Tiffany took him to the top of the CPRA standings. He is a special horse. |

Location: South Texas | Friedkins owned him and Tiffani helped their daughter with him thru High School Rodeo years then Tiffani was running him at CPRA rodeos in Texas while he was still owned by Friedkins as she still has Rare Fred and other Friedkin owned horses as her house.....Sherry came in to the pictue later and then in October Trip Duprier bought Atlas from Friedkins and mounted Sherry on him since she is hauling Callie this year |

When I said that I was meaning in the terms that Tiffani keeps those horses at her house. I agree it came off confusing as you took it. So for that I apologize for the misconception. But I have known all along that Tiffani coached the Friedkins and kept the horses fit at her house and I have known for a while as well that he was for sale and she was the one campaigning him, that she did NOT own him. I never ever looked into it because I knew he was so far out of my price range why kick tires. I didn't think it was so important on here to clarify that Lauren knew who owned him. I didn't exactly feel like it was my business to throw the Friedkins even into this conversation but since their names already got brought up then alright. I was just trying to be nice and when someone said she was on a palomino the next night I thought oh it's probably Jud since I've known she's borrowed him before. Honestly, Atlas isn't even on my freaking radar anymore. I like Jud's story because I've watched him since he was a colt. I know where Atlas came from and he's been winning long before this and will win long after. |

| Atlas was a great horse an has won with everyone on him. Jud was a Great horse and won with everyone who rode him also. Great horses are a gift from God and define us as individuals. I believe the only difference between yourself and other barrel racers is a great horse. So let's concentrate on our own horses and give this a rest.
Have a great day,

snazzy - 2015-02-18 11:32 PM Dash Ta Fame gelding owned by Callie Duperiers dad and purchased back in Oct. He belonged to Savannah Fredkin (sp) and had qualified my friend to the CPRA finals in the top position right before purchased by Duperier......he was AAA on the track with 20 plus outs and claimed for $7500 before his barrel career started. I have hauled him with my friend and been around him a lot and he is just too cool. I believe he is also an AQHA World Champion
Atlas was in Oklahoma for quite a while too. I loved to watch him run when Add had him. I've heard through the grapevine that he was originally started by Lyndee Stairs. He's a very cool guy! It was awesome to see him work so well for Sherry
April (Hickey) Yeager started him and campaigned him in the futurities. It tells all about him on the WPRA page. Add sold him for April, and then the guy that bought him didn't do well, and Add was helping him with him. April ran him while he was in OK, too....in fact I remember her smoking everyone on him at Hilltop on time. He's always been a nice horse, no matter who was riding him. |
