| Most two horse trailers are a fairly standard length. Those single axle two horse trailers became really popular with the rodeo crowd for awhile. Even though they look really short they are a standard length. I have a two horse trailer that really looks short against my goosed neck. Unless this horse is a thoroughbred he probably fits in there fine. Sounds to me like he is leaning on the back door. Again the divider can be taken out if you have to use a cutting torch.
There is a guy around here that has fixed up, OLD little one horse trailer. He comes and parks right in the middle of all the big living quarters trailers. I told him he had the right idea. He laughed and said "Hey, I can go through the drive through." There are a lot of times that I would have like to drive through too instead of walking through!!! |

4" grinder and cutting wheels...
I was thinking the same thing. A couple of hours of work problem solved. |

Like has been said, Your parents are doing what they can, and try and be grateful you have a trailer |

Cold hands and Warm Heart
Location: oklahoma | Be grateful. We parents do the best that we can and honestly, when my children don't accept my reason for something, it hurts. Until you're out in the world for some time, you don't understand our other obligations. If the floor and tires are good, go with it. There's no guarantee that they'll get enough out of it to 'save' money on a different one so trust them as adults to make adult decisions. Enjoy what you have and the rest will come in due time. |

I am certainly not going to applaud this young lady for complaining. I am going to tell her that she should thank her lucky stars that she HAS parents who seem to be able to help her as much as they can. From the description that you have given, your parents probably realize that they would never get their money back out of it, if they sold it. Additionally, If your father could patch the sides, I am reasonably sure he could (or find someone) to take the divider out. Be grateful to have what you have........... |

Where is the applause? All I see is a bunch of people offering advice on how to help out and reminding her to be grateful-and the OP answering politely. I think that it's okay that this didn't turn into a big holier than thou pile up. OP might actually be able to get some more ideas about how to help herself and her parents. |

Times have changed since I was her age. If I wanted to show my horse at her age I rode him to the show. Or if I was really lucky he got to ride in the back of a pickup LOL. But heck I'm older than dirt so what do I know. |

If the middle divider doesn't slide out they cut out pretty easy. That should give you enough room so he isn't smashed against the door. . A lot of times parents do the very best they can. Save every penny you have for an upgrade . How did it catch fire? I was soooo lucky my mom and dad got me a trailer. It was a XL 2 horse straight load with yes the cubby tack room.. Granted it was bigger than your trailer but I feel your pain. With a little strategic training horses learn to like them /tolerate them fine
my parents said they pulled up to the place and like some realllly young guy like 17 was welding the wall and some sparks fly into the inside and caught the floor boards on fire and my parents were like "is that suppose to be on fire"? and the kid was like oh crap im gonna go get some water! and my parents said the flames kept getting bigger bigger so they tried putting it out too lol. after all that they still got it lol. and there is a hole in the boards now form the flames. but don't get me wrong IM SOOOO GRATEFUL!! I came from a faster home when I was 5 and my mom was a drug addict so I was taken away from her and put in a foster home for a while. then this family came along and adopted me:):):) im very lucky and fortunate for this family:) they work their butt of to be able to pay for my horse. they sacrifice so much for me and I love my parents to death:)
I also have to work for everything as well. such as doing more chores, babysitting, getting good grades and etc. THANKS FOR THE TIPS AND EVERYTHING PEOPLE

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I was one of those kids that never had a horse trailer growing up. Bought a $1500 2 horse with my then boyfriend/now husband when we were in college. As a kid my grandpa would haul me at times or I rode to the shows. Some of them took me a good hour at a fast trot to get there. I had a few friends that had great parents that would let me tag along as well. I am impressed with how the OP is politely replying to all us older folks. She should be proud of how well her parents are raising her. Hopefully some minor things can be fixed up, but I think it is great your parents are giving you the opportunity to have a horse etc. |

I have ridden to more than a few. As previously stated, I hauled mine in our hog trailer for about a third of my life when I didn't have to ride to get there.
All of you have noticed this is the same person who has the dangerous horse when pinned (penned) up. I really think she needs some one to communicate with.

Really the floor caught on fire, I would be having someone check the boards to see if its safe to put your horse in, this may be why he wont load, he knows its not safe if the boards were burned, so please check the Floor. |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | I am glad you have a trailer . I have to say this " Don't use that trailer" It is not safe! Should that horse slip out in the rear end he will flip sticking his head through the roof and in the scramble to get loose punch his legs through the side flipping the trailer . Trust me on this and keep searching for a larger trailer and save yourself a lot of heart be persistent. My mare went down in small 2 horse straight load. I had her on a long bungee tie if it had been a solid rope she would have broke her neck. A horse must fit to travel safely. Keep looking and saving. |

The Resident Destroyer of Liberal Logic
Location: PNW | I'm going to say this as nicely as possible: go give your parents a hug and say "thank you." I'm not that many years removed from 15 and I tell you what - if my parents found out I was on an online forum acting ungrateful for what they were giving me, they would have taken it all away. I would also do the same to the children I have now.
I haul in a two horse trailer, I have a 16.3, 1300 lb gelding that fits just fine with the divider open so that he can scooch his big butt to the side. Like others have said: if your divider doesn't swing or come out - take it to any welder and they can get it out easily and for probably pretty cheap.
Good luck!
