Sounds like a symptom of Colic... Were you going to have a vet look at her by chance?

Since she is eating/pooping they don't think it's a colic. She was however in a mud lot (not sure for how long) over her knees. Vet on the phone said to give her a couple more days of relaxing before we do anything at this point. I don't know what sort of dirt they had in the lots but that crap was like trying to wash off concrete. I may stick a set of front shoes on her to see if it is a hoof issue. She has no heat in her feet and no rings like an old founder. Could be the mystery mare! LOL

Mud fever?

I would say no on the mud fever. She has no swelling or open sores. I've seen it before and she has none of the usual signs. She has no fever, no snotty nose or anything. I was cleaning her feet out earlier and the only thing she was sensitive about was when I ran my hand down the front of her leg and got to the hair line of the hoof. I was trying to feel for heat and she kept moving away. She stood like a rock when we washed her and lets me fly spray her so at some point she has been cared for. Wish she could talk. Although it may be a sad story----oh and she has had a colt or two. There is a rocking 2L brand on her left hip and a 42 on her left shoulder.

Is she standing stretched out front to back or just with one leg or the other?  If only one leg stretched out I'd check the tendons.  If her whole body is stretched out I'd xray her feet.

As to the kidney and bladder stones...my mare had both and never stood stretched out. Only to urinate, she originally had 3 stones in the bladder, two small one BIG, and 4 stones in the left kidney and one stuck in the uretor. Don't know if she is just that tough or what but the reason we took her in was she passed blood in her urine, never once acted off or stood funny. Hoping you figure out your mare's issue soon.

Could just be just hock and stifle sore if she was in deep mud for a period of time. Hoping it's an easy fix.

It's one of the first symptoms of PSSM.  PSSM has an easy fix, don't overlook it.

Do you have any pics of her so we can see her? Her coloring looks pretty.
Good for you for giving her a chance.

Any percentage of walking horse/saddle horse/gaited would make this normal. They stand weird all the time.

Well we found out the mare is papered!! Now trying to get info from the last recorded owner. She still has moments of standing stretched out. I am thinking navicular at this point, she is "pointing" with her left front more now. I'll let you know what we find out!!

Had a gelding that did this, he had feet issues, not navicular but the vet labeled it navicular syndrome. Thank you for saving her. Good shoeing and feet care kept him sound and running, 1D times even, until he was 20. I suggest xrays of the feet.
