I got "stuck" to the horn, bobbled all around, ran a 19 something rather. Was upset with myself and crummy run. So we went home (3 hour drive). Turned out I pulled a check for $125 or something in the 4D. But since I didn't stay to pick it up, I don't get it. They won't send it. LOL.

Kaycee - 2015-05-06 12:05 AM Last weekend at the BBR Finals I made it to the shortgo on one of my mares.  The winning time was a 15.340..........I ran a 16.339!!!  Yep, 1/1000th off of winning $8135.00. It wasn't a great run for my mare as she flew waaaay past first so I wasn't really expecting anything but dang, it is still painful to think about it even today.  I have been in the last hole many, many times but that was a lot of money to see be that friggin close.  Congrats to the woman from Colorado that did win it though.  I was happy to make it back to the finals and win a decent check for that.  CrossDRanch, it is a real crap shoot, though.
This might've made me go kick rocks in the parking lot!

I wasn't even in Oklahoma by the time it happened. After my run we packed up and left because a .1 or even an .0 usually wins the finals. We were already at the Texas line when my friend called to tell me the last ten runners were running and she let me listen through my cellphone. Heartbreaker! but hey that's barrel racing(gambling).

I always fall in the crack! A few years ago at The Mega I was .03 of a second too fast to win the 3D and $5000, saddle, etc.!

Griz, I think BINGO is talking about a race out near AZ that didn't send checks. No bueno!

Oh - gotcha! I'm pretty sure the BBR would send checks especially since people come from so far away to enter.

Three 4 Luck - 2015-05-05 4:24 PM I was once .001 too fast to win a saddle at a Booger Barter race. But I had a craptastic run and won the 4d saddle that same weekend at our NBHA state show. Roll the dice!
Is "craptistic" one of words only legal in Ar-kin-saw? JT

Yes, yes it is.  Y'all in Kansas would use the shorter version:  Crappy. Not to be confused with crappie.

I say 'crapola $hitola' or 'ducky sucky crap' lol

I suppose I could have gotten it on my cellphone(I'm not tech savvy-ATALL) but I was driving and I-35 was a nightmare, as usual.  I also just never thought a .3 would win so I honestly didn't even consider it. My friend called me and said, "A .4 is winning with only 10 to go."  I was shocked and then Allie ran the 15.340 and I thought, "I just need a tiny bump!"  It just wasn't meant to be.

I'd love the chance at a 4D crap shoot...where I run most, they only pay out 2D because of the number of runners.   I'd settle for a 3D crap shoot.

Well, after the flood waters went down this morning we did not have the best run(may even qualify as craptastic), but maybe it will be slow enough to get in the 4D. Now to roll the dice and hope the winning time gets us in.

At BBR I was one of the last runners in race #2. Needed a .293 and my horse ran .239. Couldn't believe it that I had the right #'s but wrong order.
A few years ago I lost a saddle by 1/1000th. I'VE never won a saddle and all my friends kept watching. Everyone thought I won it and it turns out we missed the run that ran 1/1000th quicker. Instead I won a turnout sheet. Heckofa comedown. Oh well, its just the nature of the D business.
