We live about 6 miles from where the Trailriders were being pulled out. On Tuesday you would have never believed that water was standing there just a few days ago. You could see the debris in the trees and in fences where the water had rushed through.

Lake Medina was down over 90 feet and is now about 26 feet down. Amazing.

The other day when I walked to the barn, the water was up to my ankles. Today it is bone dry.

This is the Medina River that flows through Bandera and is at the end of our road. It's been dry or a slow trickle. The water had receded tremendously when I took this picture on Tuesday afternoon. This is the river that affected the trail riders at Twin Elm in Bandera and is the river that feeds into Medina Lake.

The truck and trailer was right across the street from Mansfield Park where the PRCA rodeo was held this past weekend.

Here are a few pictures. I don't think we will ever be able to mow... haven't mowed in a month and the ground is still too wet.

I keep watching the news with pics and stories but there's no way journalists can convey the misery that comes with this kind of catastrophe.  My heart goes out to you.  We've gotten lots of rain here in Kansas but not nearly as constant as in Oklahoma and Texas.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected in last night's storms.  We were lucky up where I am at and the storm split just before it got to us.  We've managed to skirt the last 3 days with no rain at all, but I know there are many others than were drenched again last night.  The interstate in Dallas is shut down due to high water over the road and they have shown images of wreckers under water.  This has been a crazy year so far, that is for sure!!!!  Next week's forecast is looking good so far....hoping we get dried out a little bit!

Someone posted this video on FB. We don't have big rivers in the panhandle of Texas, so this should show just how much rain we have gotten.

Herbie, you are lucky it missed you - we got hail and 7-8 inches of rain just last night alone. :(

I saw it was hailing your direction.  That one missed us just to the west.  I was riding and could see the line of the storm coming through.  I'm so sorry ya'll are having to deal with all of that.  We have been very fortunate at my place thus far.  Only one tree down that tore down our electric.  Other than that just rain.  Hopefully soon it will give all of us a little relief from the moisture.  I'm not praying for it to go away, just for it to give us a little break.

We are south of Kansas City and it has rained almost every day here for the last month too.  I work for a farm, and we were luckily able to get all our corn in over a few dry days, but we haven't been able to plant any beans yet.  I'm worried about the hay crops this year.  If it stays this wet no one will be able to put up any hay!

I haven't been able to ride in a month and I'm starting to get kinda cranky about it!  We live on the side of a hill so we have had water running/sitting on the top of our ground for what seems like forever.

Hey, Herbie, we too were able to just skirt those storms last night. I think we have gone 48 hours with no rain. Yipeee
I was so worried about all the other areas of Texas when I kept watching that storm take its time across the entire state.  It was barely moving and I knew that those west of me were getting more rain, AGAIN.  It just lost its umph by the time it got to us in East Texas.  Thankfully.

Heck, how much do you want?  It has been pouring in Tulsa for the last 2 hours or more.  I mean POURING...Again.  The creek close to our house was up yesterday and with this new rain it could be about to go over the road now.

I attached a picture of the San Luis Reservoir which is about 45 minutes to an hour away from where I live. Driving by, you can really get an idea of the drought we are in over here. Low water levels are at 19.3 percent/ or 160ft down & this was from Oct. 2014
