Coop - 2015-06-29 12:22 PM Just looking at her conformation, ASOF would not be my pick. In no way am I saying your mare has poor conformation, I just don't think he would be the ideal cross on her...

I would lean more towards something like Firewater Ta Fame (he's gorgeous and his get have been winning quite a bit) or possibly Judge Cash (depending on your budget) or a Tres Seis son.
Thank you, this is exactly what I'd like to hear because as the owner of my mare, I'm biased, LOL! If I could get Judge Cash on special (like they do for the NFR and things like that) he may be in my budget. Great to know about Tres Seis sons, as one is in my backyard practically that's on my list, and has a nice dam's side too, although he's unproven.

I know my mare doesn't have perfect conformation, but she is good, and stocky, and sound. Things I would improve on her is speed and her feet...pretty good feet but, in the summer when it is hot and dry they crack and chip, so I keep her shod in the summer if I'm using her hard.

Kalispell is too far for me to go for AI, but thanks for the idea! :) There is one in Great Falls I've had recommended to me that I'll probably go with. Aint Seen Nothin Yet is on my long list, but not sure with the FG how it would cross on my mare. I am not concerned about temperament with the cross, but speed, although I know he is out of a DTF daughter, and FG and DTF seem to be a magic cross.

trulyaroyaljem13 - 2015-06-29 3:37 PM What about Aint Seen Nothing Yet. We bred a mare to him this year and very excited to see what we get next year. He is stunning! We took our mare to La Salle Vet Clinic in Kalispell, MT. Semen was shipped from Wyoming.

He IS stunning! I hope his babies perform as well as they look. That could be dangerous.

Here's what I have coming for 2016 http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/16+lsof+x+jm+draw+straws ..
I'm so happy with my other LSOF filly that it's hard not to go right back to him every year..

It would be hard for me to go to anything other than straight running bred on your mare. I really like Best Advice, Fly the Red Eye, and Dashing Dynamo!

Streaking ta Fame is pretty awesome. I like Fly the Red Eye too. Pappasito is another one I would consider or maybe On a Gator, Eddie Stinson, or Lion's Share of Fame. There's a ton of nice DTF sons who can throw you some speed with turn.

I've been looking at quite a few sons of DTF, as I would like that cross, and sons of daughter's of DTF.

Here's a junior sire that hasn't proven himself yet, as his first foals I think will hit the ground in 2016 but has a strong maternal (out of a daughter of DTF) and paternal line (out of Tres Seis):
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/tres+my+fame   Is it worth the gamble breeding to an unproven stud that has awesome bloodlines, and from a ranch with a good reputation for producing good barrel horses?

Β  Thanks for the input! Teehaha mentioned Tres My Fame, and someone else mentioned breeding to a son of Tres Seis as a good cross for my mare, so I'm definitely leaning that way, proven or not as I think he'll probably produce pretty nice babies. :)

Yes it could be! the mare we bred to him is by Mountains Majesty (full brother to Stoli) and out of daughter of Special Leader.

Im from Canada and with the US dollar being so good......you could try breeding to LDS Unleashed. Ive bred to him 5 times and got amazing babies.
They ship semen into the states and his stud fee is only $1000. Look him up on www.allbreedpedigree.com
He is son of Dash Ta Fame and out of Streaking Dash daughter.

They have a facebook page......Laye Ranch

How difficult is it to get that kind of thing across the line? Thanks for the idea, by the way. :

I actually dont think its difficult at all from Canada to US. More difficult for us to get from the US. Inquire to Marci and ask her.......she will know. Tell her Shelley told you about him! :)

So, anyone have an opinion how Amy's stud Firewater Finale would cross on my mare? I have heard so many good things about him and about Amy with breeding to mares. :) Tres My Fame is still on the list too, just looking at all options. :) May consider Famous Charmer, but he looks like he has an awful short back for my mare, JMO. Opinions on that too would be great!

To be super honest ... Dazzler was my first thought when I saw your mare!  I'd breed her to him.  Those Firewater Flit horses are super minded and he's out of a Bully Bullion mare that held her own too.

I am also biased and planning to breed my cow bred to him this next year

ETA - Call or message Amy ... she's super easy to talk to!

Thanks, I've liked him for a long time, but once again I think I'm finally going to be able to breed my mare (things didn't work out this year, but that wasn't my mare's fault...life got in the way). Biggest decision is picking the stud, LOL.

Royal and Famous is a 1D stallion. Ran the fastest time of the OKC Derby Finals 2014.Kelly's Chick 2014 NFR qualifier and Stoli My Guy whom needs no introduction are both breeding to Royal and Famous in 2015. He placed in the 1D at Waco at the ANHA and Jud Little Barrel Bash. Roy recently was 2nd at his first pro rodeo only Andria Cline on Moses bested us by a tenth. His dam Go Royal Scarlett LTE $300,000+3 time NFR qualifier has produced the horse that won the semi-finals qualifier at Mesquite and set the new arena record at OKC Derby with a 14.8. Royal Star Commander ridden by Erin Ricotti. His full sister was on the cover of Barrel Horse News last year as well Famous Scarlett. His sire is Dash Ta Fame. He would be a clear choice for your breeding program for 2015! Top 40 at the 2014 qualifier in Glen Rose outrunning the likes of The Red Dasher and JL Dash Ta Heaven. $1250

we are hoping to breed out Jet of Honor daughter to ASOF next year. I am going to try and breed one of my mares next year that I run but not sure how I am going to do that.. but I really like Corona Caliente and if I can afford the ET will try to ET Lucy to him.

Then I have my Stoli mare who I am not sure what to do with next year. She's in foal to slick by design for a 2016 baby. She has had a first down french and a firewater ta fame so far.

Have you seen any babies from Corona Caliente? I would love to breed to him as well!

I like Corona Caliente. Ive seen a few of his foals run and they seem like pretty nice barrel horses.
Its esp a plus since hes a Future fortunes stud now.
I tried to contact them via email and havent heard anything back in a week or so now. Guess its time to call!

So many nice studs out there!

El Scorcho is awesome (I'm picking up one of his colts next month. SQUEEEE), but I'm not sure she will be standing him to outside mares next year. You'd have to ask Jennifer.

I really like Streaking Ta Fame. A friend of mine has a gorg FSTV baby this year.

I also very very much like the John Fame filly I saw. She was absolutely stunning.
