I really thought they would wait a while to breed him to the public and maybe only their own mares.....they really dont NEED the money.

They sold 50% of him to Coolmore. He will most likely breed a book of 100-150 mares.

I was at Churchill Downs a month ago and heard they are going to be shipping him to Australia for half the year to utilize him there for their breeding season (durring our off season), too. Does Australia have a big TB industry?

Yes, Australia has a big market. Coolmore owns a stud farm down there and many of their stallions shuttle.
