A lot of these girls are already getting critiques on their runs during the week, especially if they have something not coming together right, they start making phone calls to people they trust. I seriously doubt they're going to come to bhw for advice or get butthurt over something on here. |

And with the scheduling and appearances and million other things they are doing in Vegas, I doubt many of them are going to be logging onto BHW to read what's going on. The only time I've seen them doing that was when they were addressing snarky rumors or misconceptions about their riding/horses that someone probably pointed specifically out to them as something that needed to be addressed on here. Hell, I'm not even riding and when I'm in Vegas for the NFR, BHW is the last thing on my mind (though I do love you guys!).

Not to mention, social media becomes a pretty hateful place around the NFR. BHW is certainly NOT immune to that! This thread actually helped to curtail a lot of that type of discussion.
You have a gift for breaking things down and explaining in a positive manner. I've been struggling to get back with my horse after a long layoff and you're one of the few people I'd welcome some thoughts on a video from. The NFR critique thread was very educational and tastefully done. |

I don't understand how half the argument is "We want to be more like other pro sports", BUT DON'T SAY ANYTHING THAT WILL MAKE ME CRY.
For real, do you think any of the quarterbacks cry about what fans say? If they do...boy are they in the wrong sport. If people are going to pay to watch a sport, they should be able to talk about it, and discuss it out loud and on line if they want to. Oh My Gosh, this gets me every year...They are at the NFR, no one can criticize them...if you can't do it, you can't talk about it. Latricia Duke is a great rider and trainer...never been to the NFR, lots of great trainers have never been to the NFR.
I Loved the thread, and enjoyed our brief meeting in Perry, hope to see you again somewhere.

Wrap has an insight to see and point out the differences in running and riding styles and why, on a certain run, they either worked or didn't work....NO RUN at the NFR is "perfect", there are little things that go wrong (or right). IF he can point them out, it just may help someone who has a similar problem at home. But to each his own......

I like her, but no real spoet is going grow if fans can not talk about, disagree with, even make fun of.....the athletes. Commercials during Football season are FULL of those guys making fun of thselves. I can not belie'e they are so thin skinned. Iv been to lesser barewl eaces and it is dog eat dog. I have also seen riders at the NFR that looked like they should not be there. They usually dropped away fairly quickly. But tons ofnpeople thought the same...in private conversatio s...amazing horse . . .poor rider. It happens. And not every remark is a complaint....just didferent. I thik it makes Barrel racers look so ao silly. |

I agree with you 100%. Pretty much all the big sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, etc.) have people that devote entire shows to analyzing the players and what they did wrong. ESPN has entire segments on how players messed up during the game (The NOT Top Ten plays). I cannot count the number of times I saw the infamous Mark Sanchez "butt fumble". Think he didn't want that shown? During the game people say "well he did this wrong and that's why he threw an interception". Not every run or ride someone makes is perfect, few ever are. It is alright to analyze things in a constructive manner. Just because someone is at the NFR doesn't mean they are perfectly in time with their horse every step, or that they don't get behind and mess them up. Or that their horse is just flat counterfit one run and slams a barrel. It happens to all racers and the faster you go the more it shows up when little mistakes happen. While I don't agree or particularly like watching everyone's riding styles, you can potentially learn something from it, even if it is something you want to make sure you don't do. |

| Although I think it is a great idea, its always interesting to read why they are doing certain things and their style.. BUT is not coming from people who are actually riding the horses and why they are doing what they are doing, I think it will open up a huge negative rant from the couch jockeys (granted this will happen anyway) There are
"some" on here who constantly have nothing positive to say and will pick apart every single thing.
BUT... it would also be great to read about the runs. |

I agree to a certain extent... this thread was done tastefully in past years and i really enjoyed it. I am all about constructive criticism and I learned a lot from the last thread. but just because the media trashes athletes, celebrities, etc doesnt make it right and I dont want to participate in it. Now... I know Wrap wouldnt do that and like I said the thread was done well last time but just something I felt I needed to say I guess because some people do cross that line between constructive and flat out bashing.  |

| Didn't see it before, so can't comment.
Although, I find it interesting that those of us who frequent BHW would 'critique' the folks at the NFR. However, agree that some of us BHW folks could benefit from someone's observations and desscriptions of those runs. Certainly not me, my brain can't even function as fast as those women have to act in that teenie little pen, much less have my brain tell my body to do something!
