| Swannranch - 2015-12-10 12:15 PM My wild guess on Sherri, first last year she was newly married and happy :) I kind of wish she had stayed on Stingray because she usually gets a little faster and about the time I thought she would clock, she changed horses. So I guessing she knows she is out of a shot at the title and is running more for fun. She has won everything.
Also, I didn't think Stingray was very old, maybe wrong? I was thinking 10ish? Maybe not.
She is a 2002 model |

Location: Northwest Florida | It's merely speculation, but I just feel like Stingray wasn't clocking. Each go she appeared so smooth and nearly flawless, she just wasn't cutting the timer off as quickly as some of the other girls. |

| I do remember Sherri saying one year in an interview that Stingray knows its a long rodeo and she usually gets faster each round because she knows not to burn herself out. Maybe she will pull her back out for the final three. |

Location: IL | Stingray hasn't really been clocking well for a while. Maybe she's a little burned out? I remember Sherri first running her at the Thomas and Mack as a 6 year old. I don't think she's not running her because of the ground. BTW every year the ground is an issue at the NFR. It's all apart of Rodeo. All these girls run all year on Rodeo ground. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad. It's all apart of the sport. Do I think they should more time and thought into the gorund there? Yes, most definitely!!! But it's part of the sport!! Same as having crappy steers. |

Stingray has been clocking well enough to get to the NFR. Sherry didn't just pull her out of the barn for the big show.

At this point, Stingray is more valuible as a embryo transfer mare/broodmare. HOWEVER, I would love to see Sherry keep running her at the NFR. I can completely understand a rider wanting to run some younger horses. I just miss see Sherry on Stingray. |

| There are not a faster set of legs than Stingray's at the NFR. That girl can sure enough move her feet. She doesn't cover as much ground as some with a bit shorter stride, but she is one scrappy little hustler. She is fun to watch for sure! |

Β I've always been a fan, way back to the troubles days. I loved seeing hawk too. I have a soft spot for the shorties. |

I wonder where George went?Β I fell in loveΒ with that horse.Β
I believe I read somewhere that George couldn't handle the rodeo road physically (?) and he is being used as a jackpot horse or a rope horse now. |

Location: A roping pen near you!! | I just got home from the NFR yesterday and we went to rounds 4 & 7. I was so disappointed not to be able to see Stingray run. However I did get to see some awesome runs by other great horses!! I will say this I was very disappointed in the ground. You know it's bad when Chase Cervi's pickup horse falls down when he was chasing after Will Lowe in the 7th round. I rewatched it on tv and they didn't show it. But if you watch it when they are chasing after Will you can hear the crowd gasp. Chase was riding his black horse. Luckily they got up and were fine. Just wait till one of the rough stock horses or bulls falls and breaks something then maybe they will do something with the ground. BTW: the rodeo was AWESOME spend the money and go at least once. We had only planned on going to one perf but loved it so much we bought another round tickets. |

Location: Arizona | I don't know, watching Stingray run last night she seemed very sore on her front end. You don't hardly see Stingray come into the barrels bouncing on her front end. The T&M ground she just isn't liking. Past years she has gotten faster with every round, these past two years at the NFR Stingray just isn't clocking here anymore. :( JMO!! |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | Everyone's guessing......is it just because of the ground? Is it because she's worn out? Is it because her stifles, suspensories, and hocks are sore? The only person who might know is Sherri, and even she might not be certain. Time will tell. I don't feel so bad for Sherri. She's been around the block a time or two. If she so desires, she'll be back, whether it's on Stingray or another horse. |

| Has nothing to do with the NFR, but every year in AZ I have the pleasure to talk with Stingray when she is tied to the trailer at the big Buckeye races.. She is always there with the young colts and is a sweetheart. I just give her some pats and tell her to keep up the good work..:) |
