Why would a "rescuer" rescue a horse with no way to get said rescue horse to veterinary care quickly?.... Poor planning... How did she get the horse? idk, I was just going off the screenshots that were posted on the Justice page. They even had screenshots of the vet making a comment stating he saw the horse once and didn't believe the horse would make a recovery. But they still insist on donations lol yet won't post a current picture of the colt.
Sounds like a scam
The vet was contacted after his name had been thrown around by her. She had said ppl could send donations to him.
He said he only went to see the horse bc he was in the area and she told him other vets had declined to come.
He said the horse was down therefor he couldn't really do a thorough examination. He said he went no further bc she had no means to pay him for the visit. He stated if the horse is still alive and still down since his visit then there is irreparable damage and he will most likely need to be humanely euthanized.
When I see those posts about people asking for money...I just force myself to keep scrolling. She got a new saddle for Christmas but can't afford vet care? Ok.
Haven't heard that one.... Shame shame Where did you see this? |

Shame shame
Where did you see this?
On her personal Facebook page she posted pictures Christmas morning. There was a huge spread for her little girl, along with a saddle for her from her husband/boyfriend. I understand not returning or limiting the child's Christmas if you're into lots of gifts, but idk. People are claiming she used the donated cash to fund her Christmas. I had seen her posts in FB prior to the sick horse debacle and knew better than to offer advice or money. I try not to judge but it was obvious she wasn't very educated when it comes to horses, and anytime someone would offer advice she would get hostile and delete them from the group. She would "rescue" thin horses and talk about giving them a new life but to me, they never seemed to get any fatter. Or she would ask questions she should be asking a vet and then have an excuse for every piece of advice someone offered. If I saw her name I kept scrolling!
Yall only think people on BHW can be bad at taking advice. FB is a jungle lol. I try to find good deals on used tack, but you have to weed through the advice posts to get to them!! |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I don't want to post any of the screenshots or messages I was sent regarding the well being and updates of her horse but I will relay the info I got or know.... I posted this thread because I'm afraid she may be another Lydia culp or the start to one at least.
My best said when she heard the story and donated $25 to her PayPal account, as well as many many others, I did see the $200 post, $100 here $50 there, there were hundreds of comments posted. She also asked for a donation of SMB/splint boots so that when she got him in the sling his tendons would be supported. She also posted originally that she had pre paid for daily vet care from the said vet that only stopped by one time. Someone even posted a message on Facebook with a screenshot of him saying he was only there once to check out the situation.
Long story short, a friend of mine told me that she has personally tried to help her in the last but they were "new" horse owners and didn't know how to properly care for their horses thus putting a lot of debt and care into my friends hands until she finally washed her hands of it.
So why The heck would a novice horse owner get a 2 year old stud is beyond me. (I think there should be a law about that but that's another story)
I lurked on her page and her horses did not look that great, weight and health wise, but I don't know if they were rescued or what. I really try not to judge but in this case as the days went by something smelled super fishy.
I messaged her on Facebook asking if she had an update or got test results back yet confirming west Nile or encephalitis , she said no, which I do know they can take a while depending on what lab or vet they used.
The last pic I saw of him was him still on the ground covered in a blanket (my friend said because he's skin and bones). So he was still not up and at this point after being down so long he needs to be euthanized if he has not passed alreday.

She looks to be fairly young... Maybe late 20s, early 30s? Not too terribly old... Yet still young enough mentally to think she knows it all |

Not only animals, some worthless humans use their own young kids. There was a mother that was useing her little girl to get money, mom was saying her little girl had cancer and ever shaved her head and sit up a gofund me account, she got busted, saw this on the news last week, I think this happen in San Antoino, sick bit*h to do something like this to her own baby. |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | Okay here's my thing, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this way but if you cannot provide an adequate Christmas for your own Children then why on Gods green earth do you have horses!!!!!!! These animals are a LUXURY not a commodity, or status symbol. I see so many that scrape to make ends meat (I've been there but that's on me, I have no kids) and have multiple horses! I have to buy, train and sell just to keep what I have and I have a very good job and no children.

| Maybe when she realized she wasn't going to get rich breeding him, she had to come up with another plan. I also read in there somewhere she had trained the horse to lay and sit down.. but who knows.... thought it was very strange she had boots on him while he was layed out on the ground ... along with bell boots. |

Location: Somewhere else | Last I heard she was saying it wasn't West Nile that it was something else that the horse contracted from a mosquito.Β Said she is trying to get a trailer to move him to a place where they have sling hooked up so that they can get him up at least.Β She claims the horse is sitting up and is eating some and drinking water.Β But if the horse can't get up then how is she suppose to get it on a trailer to take it someplace to have it put in a sling.Β Said she needed the sling because Elvis is getting sores from laying on the ground for so long.Β Seems like this has been going on for a week at least.Β Not real sure how to take this girl, don't know if she is trying to help this horse or just trying to scam people.Β But if she is scamming people trying to get money, she isΒ abusing that poor horse and she should be dealt with promptly. JMHO Β

Location: Florida.. | It would be difficult to get a blanket on the horse if it couldnt get up .. its hard to wrap its legs to and she is smiling.. i think she is scamming.. also I often wonder why people get rescue horses if you cant afford them.. dont ask others to provide for the horse.. or we'd rescue it ourselves..
