Location: The edge of no where		I would do surgery as a very LAST option.  Fusing vertebrae isn't a great option.  I almost booked surgery 2ish? years ago after being recommended by an ortho and neurosurgeon....went for one more opinion and I'm so glad I did.  I've put my body thru some wrecks.  A lot of my back pain that was killing me was from issues with my SI joint.  I get it injected periodically (this hurts like hell) and pay attention to the shape I'm in.  You absolutely CANNOT carry ANY excess weight or allow your core to get weak.  I walk a lot, plank some, and stay super active.  If I'm having a bad day, I'll wear a brace with copper to keep things loose. I've done chiro, massage, physical therapy.....sometimes it helped a little bit for a while, but I find that the most important thing is for me to take care of myself.

Do any of you with back issues have pinched nerve problems?  I can live with my back soreness, but it in turn causes a pinched nerve to the front/inner thigh area.  Last summer it got bad enough I couldn't walk without a limp and I've finally gotten back on my running program and don't want to have to quit again.  So far the flare ups have been controllable but no one seems to be able to tell me how to CURE it.  Riding definetely makes it worse.
