I think that's the lec not her. I've heard several things about the newer management. They've done a lot of updating, maybe stalls will be in the future..especially if they can attract these bigger events.
Oh I agree, It is not Renea. It is the LEC.... that is why I am putting it on them - |

| fgf - 2016-05-03 4:16 PM How does this race pay? I guess I'm asking would it be worth it to travel from north Texas to this event?
Open is 10K. Can enter 1 horse up to 2 times. $40 ea.
Bonus Finals is $55,926. Have to have a qualifier, but can win one in the open. $100 ea.

It paid over $4K to win the 1D in the bonus round last year. I won the Bonus round 5D in 2013 and won $1495, a Cactus saddle and Shea Michelle buckle - all beautiful prizes. |

I am looking for 2 stalls for Thursday night. I am just running in the open in the Thursday late session and one horse in the Fri bonus am session and heading back home after that. If someone would like to help with their stall cost, I would love for my horses to be comfortable for the night and not have to haul off grounds! Thank you |

I was thinking that also....wonder why they couldn't have it at OKC? They have a large enough facility, I think, that could accommodate that many people/horses. The BBR never has an issue with stalls.
I think the only time they might have was while OKC was getting a major face lift and they were knocking those old barns down. They pack that place for the USTRC Finals.
Other places you could go would be Gillette (not because I live there lol), maybe even Las Vegas, not sure how many stalls at South Point. I've been lots of places where there are plenty of stalls. Even Albuquerque has tons. Wherever you take it, someone is making a big drive. |

I agree that all places have someone making a drive. But... I'm pretty sure she was wanting to get away from places that already had something huge. There just aren't a lot of places that are affordable that are going to be accommodating.
Des Moines had the JR High School National rodeo finals, and I'm thinking that was pretty dang huge, but I know they are really expensive. |

You can imagine how a big barrel race in a building with a reputation for less than stellar ground would go over.....
The Expocentre in Topeka is supposedly building a second indoor arena, and I hear the same thing about Douglas County Fairgrounds in Lawrence, but neither of those have 700 stalls or even room for 700 stalls. (They're just a lot closer to home for me even though I despise the current Lawrence barn LOL)

I've heard the same. At least Lincoln has barrel races all year long in there! |

Oh yeah Des Moines looks very nice but I watched the Jr High Finals and they sure were slipping and sliding in there. So I don't know if you can fix it in there or not. No dog in the fight this year but I wish I did. |

Location: SE KS | Well, excited anyway - it is Wonderful event and I appreciate the work both parties do. I would prefer to tie to trailer (if have too) then let them stand in cement stall. Good luck to all that enters. |

How many of you are entering the same horse twice in the bonus race if you have more than one qualifier?
I have a wedding and several north/northeast Kansas rodeos I am trying to juggle the same weekend as well and didn't know if it was worth trying to fit two runs in, or run once and hope for the best.

For that kind of money you might as well enter twice! |

And the ground in all 3 arenas is always good! |

I can't offer my stalls but there is a facebook page dedicated to the Bonus Race stalls selling/buying if that helps. |

I have 11 qualifiers, 4 horses and only entered the Bonus round twice....once on Chance and once on Clifford. I decided not to put a zillion runs on my horses in a weekend or spend $1,184.46 in entry fees so I limited myself to 5 runs in Lincoln. It's a ton of money to possibly win, but it's also a lot of money to fork over in entry fees and potentially lose if a horse gets hurt or if I would get hurt since you can't draw out.
Chance is my main big pen rodeo horse, and he's running Thursday night in the bonus race, potentially could run Friday at Troy KS rodeo, and will run Saturday night at Washington, KS, rodeo to defend his title. Clifford is my small pen/trashy ground rodeo horse. He's entered Thursday noon in the open, Thursday night in the bonus round, and I'd like to run him Friday night at Troy's rodeo. Streak and Joker, my 3D/4D/5D jackpot horses, are both entered in the Thursday noon open and that's it. They are my backups in case something happens to remove Chance or Cliff from the lineup for Thursday night. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | Last year I spent a lot of time visiting with the LEC grounds crew. (waiting for them to pull my truck out of a sink hole) They told me that the LEC was going to add on more buildings (stalls) and a coliseum that was going to be done in phases. Everyones answer to barrel races is "move it south everything is better in the south" I call BS. There's a lot of northern girls that can't/won't make that trip south. Renae does a bang up job putting her events on and puts up with a lot of complainers. |
