Location: North of the 49th Parallel | My best friend is on the front lines of these wildfires and the stories that he's told me. He's been working for 5 days, and only 11 hours of sleep. The emergency responders get a huge kudos for evacuating 90k people and no fatalities and the firefighters for going around the clock to save Ft Mac. |

Location: Alberta, Canada | Fort Mac fires are still out of control and growing... but some good news on the western fires -- the Worsely (Fairview) fire and the northern BC fires have suppressed because we got RAIN and SNOW yesterday!!! Yay! Evac orders for the north peace were lifted! We were about an hour, hour and half away from the closest fire but have many friends who were evacuated, so rain was the most welcomed sight yesterday! |

Are they getting any more these fires under control? I saw that some were not as intense but the ones I saw on the news this morning looked like something out of a horror movie with cars driving away and all the huge smoke clouds and the red glow in the back ground. |

| The fire in Fort Mac is now larger than New York, and still out of control. So far they have only lost 20% of the town (which is amazing considering how big it is) We were aloud into the city to remove animals Friday morning at 2am, we drove into town and there was fire on both sides of us. I do not know how 80,000 people safely made it out of the city when the fire was as large as it was. So far over 700 animals have been rescued and being re-united with their owners. All of the 30 some that we removed have been placed back with their homes. If you want to help you can donate to the Red Cross here :)https://donate.redcross.ca/ea-action/action?gclid=CPPS6ImR0MwCFQUIaQodhjQKsw&ea.client.id=1951&ea.campaign.id=50639
So far there have only been three deaths, there was a car with two young ladies and they hit a semi on the way out of town when they were being evacuated, she was the previous fire chiefs daughter, first responders saved their house in the fire so they could keep her memories all while letting their own houses burn down.
I am so proud to be from this province and watching everyone band together is amazing #albertastrong

| I had a little panic attack but they were not that bad when we were driving in, it was worse because it was night and you couldn't see how far in they went, when we drove out in the daylight I had to laugh to myself because it wasn't as bad as I convinced myself it was. I am so glad that people are getting their pets back, yes some lost their homes but only 3 people lost their lives which is truly amazing considering what they went through, this is a video of them leaving town when the evac started. I would have panicked for sure.
