If they say that this is not a Terrorist act, they are all freaking crazy..

I disagree... Terrorism at it's roots is a political act. I don't see this here.. This is just someone that snapped and fell off the deep end. We'll see what they turn up at his home and on his computer and phone....

Bear - 2016-06-12 11:02 AM I look at it this way. If one gun-toting Texan would have been in there, chances are the death toll would be a fraction of what it is.

Doc, we would have the same problem in TX.  Our laws prohibit concealed carry anywhere that alcohol is served by the drink and is 51% of the establishment's revenue.  We are hoping to address this and other prohibited places in the next legislative session.

Tragically, we've proven that gun free zones don't work.

In a 911 call from the shooter he pledged his allegiance to ISIS.  It will be interesting to see how Pres. Useless spins this one to protect his Muslim buddies.

A bit sketchy yet but a man with an arsenal was just arrested at/near a gay pride festival in L.A.

I can't remember which station i was watching but there was an interview where a Muslim leader said under sharia law homosexuality is forbidden and killing such people was encouraged. The chief of police said he doubts the attack was random. That it was planned and targeted for the gay people who would be there. Only one block away there was a larger gathering of people in another building. If the purpose was volume of deaths the shooter could have picked a better spot. On the political spectrum this in my opinion will really help trump. I do not 100 percent agree with trump, he is probably racist , but still getting my vote cause he is the only one to actually call a duck a duck. aBSOLUTELY not all Muslims are bad or think this way. But until we find a better way to screen them all immigration needs to stop. Hillary keeps calling for gun control. Lol people who want guns will be able to get them when they need them period. The world views the United States like a total B--------ch. buzzing a war ship then Iran makes a statues of our soldiers cowering down. Lol disgusting.

When will we break these terrorist's cells up here and deport them? Isis members are going to destroy us from within, just as they've declared.

O just  made a short speech......not nearly as much time as he spent on Trayvon Martin.   Called it an act of terror but with no reference to Islamic terrorism (there's a shocker).  Went all lib about gun control again (another shocker).

Refused to take questions from reporters.  Probably wearing his golf shoes and needed to "get."  He and Hillary are afraid of tough questions so they hide from them.

What I don't get is that the Left is about COEXIST and accepting all religions, and gender choices. They are all behind letting all the MUSLIM refugees (they do not, however, want the Christian ones) into this country unchecked, unfettered and supported by our tax dollars. Do they not get that Islam is TOTALLY homophobic and mete out death as easily as parking tickets. And that Sharia Law allows the killings as just?

I do not understand how the Left exists without logic......sigh It is not about acceptance, it is about power and control over the people.

And I disagree with the statement that terrorism is about politics not crazy people. There HAS to be something mentally wrong with someone who can cut someone's head off, having zero concern for life itself, including their own. IMHO they are just freakin crazy.

I will keep my compassion for those terrorized. My heart goes out to all those killed, injured and affected by this act of terrorism.

Responding to you first sentence....I read an article that Allen West shared on FB that the shooter's father is saying this had nothing to do this religion and it just about made my blood boil. Oh, like heck. Like you mentioned, under their religion, homosexuality is punishable by death....and so I'm baffled how the Left is getting away with saying it had nothing to do with his religion....

There is more than one way to look at this.... If you are biased... This was a panzi bar.. So he didn't expect there to be any heros there... He expected what he got... People cowering from gunfire...
I've been accused of being a nutcase right here on BHW... I grew up around firearms... I'm a pretty good shot with rifle and handgun... Would I do something like this? Probably not.. COULD I do something like this... Yes... So could anyone else that knows how to handle a gun...

I am darn good with a gun to & I make my mark, but would I do something like this, HELL NO !! Don't use the word, Panzi Bar. These were human beings, gay, so what, they are human like you & me. I was touched how they helped many of the injured. I'm no panzi, but I would cower under gun fire until I could shoot the s.o.b. No one had a fire arm. Your comment of "COULD I do something like this... Yes... So could anyone else that knows how to handle a gun"... is so wrong. I could never do this & trust me, I know how to handle a gun & hit my mark. Laughable for anyone to say that this didn't have anything to do with his religion. I see some of the Muslim's are now speaking up against terrorists...I find it strange they never spoke up before. I think they are afraid Trump might get in as they sure weren't worried about Obama doing anything.

They need to have a course for teachers that would be comfortable with handling a gun and have a continuing education with different scenarios so teachers and students are not sitting ducks.

Let me preface this by saying that no matter who, what, where, or why, what happened at that night club today was an extremely sad occurrance and a needless occurrance and wrong in so many levels. Prayers for the people involved.

So, let me give my opinion now:

In a way I agree it is a terrorist act...any act of violence of one person against another is a form of terrorism.

But I agree with komet, that terrorist acts as defined now days have their roots deep in politics (bombing of the World Trade Center buildings, for example). I wouldn't think someone would go into a gay bar to shoot up a whole bunch of people to make a political statement, I would think they would go to a government office, such as that person in San Bernardino.

If, according to the news accounts, what the father of the man who was the shooter said, that his son saw two gay men kissing, and became angry, I can actually see that, no matter what the religion even. I don't agree with shooting someone for that reason, but before you condemn me for that statement, let me explain. We have a Christian group locally (and I know there has been talk about Muslims on this board) that is vehemently against homosexuals, to the point of setting up a booth at our State fair against them and handing out pamphlets in high schools just to name a couple. These people also have concealed weapons and have some bizarre ideas about them (don't get me wrong, I enjoy shooting as much as the next person, but not in the manner these people believe). They are very vehement people in many of their Christian beliefs and it is astounding to us and to many other people we know, because they are blatantly so. So in light of that, I honestly don't think it was Muslim thing over any other religion, exept perhaps that Muslims find homosexuality a sin, but other religions find it a sin as well including the people I mentioned.

As far as someone just snapping, I don't think so either other than a mental instability. I think it was premeditated as people typically don't just snap and happen to have an assault rifle with them.

If anything, I think you could blame it on a sort of mental deficiency, because anyone who would think that was okay could not be thinking normally, in my opinion. The news account I read said that he was bipolar and mentally unstable.

Why do people do they things they do? We don't know, and don't claim to. Only the man that did them knows. We feel like the society now days is just weird and dangerous, and we need to come to some resemblance of order in our lives and in our nation. Of course, being Christians ourselves, we believe we should go back to our roots in Christianity to come to that order.
