| What the heck is considered a primer? Sorry, I have no make up or hair skills. I gave up on make up years ago. In between the wrinkles (which just crack and look worse with make up) and sweating it off, why bother? Kinda wish I had more skills and knowledge as I now have age spots on my face that no amount of sunscreen or lightening product will get rid of. And now I read that you need to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours to keep it effective. Who can do that !!??
So I go through life au natural. Sigh... Getting old is not for the weak hearted... |

Location: Louisiana | Ok I use 3-4 different foundations depending on what I'm doing my face for. I don't like to use the high dollar stuff when I know I'm going to be sweating a lot. For school I just use BB cream, etc.
A good Walmart foundation... Revlon Colorstay. I use the one for combination/oily skin. This stuff is ok if you put it on with your hands. BUT, if you know how to use a beauty blender sponge, it's awesome!!
I can put it on in the am, go to work. Get home and bathe horses in the 100 heat, sweat profusely. Go inside, blot dry, apply a dab of powder, and head to a rodeo looking like I have pretty, fresh makeup.
Just never rub your sweat off, let it drip...eewwwww I know hahaha. Pat dry!! |

But it's a seven piece set; concealer, brow pencil, mascara, "foundation", and and awesome "blurring" powder that makes skin look so smooth. And you can also pick and choose what you want, to spend less. It's a million times worth the money. |

Conturing started off as being for drag queens LOL. My uncle's GF is a makeup artist for the TV show VEEP. She said all of that conturing going on started with drag queens. She said to keep it simple with a little bronzer/highligher but not to go crazy with 15 different colored concealors.
If you're still really into conturing or wanting to, because I'll admit I still wanted to see the difference (at least) as well. There are a lot of different techniques for different face shapes. First you would want to find the shape of your face & go from there. Lots of tutorials on YouTube/Pinterest. |

I just tried the new Loreal Infallible Pro Glow - Usually I just wear a tinted moisturizer but when I want to look a little more presentable I really like it.Β A little goes along way in coverage.Β Β
I just bough this and love it too! I'm not usually much into liquid foundations and have several high end brands, but this stuff rocks! Oh and it doesn't sink into my fore head wrinkles! The elf buffing brush works fantastic with it.
You should always wear a separate spf. The Spf in any makeup is not strong enough to really work. I wear an spf 30 moisturizer everyday. |

I have always "contoured" with my bronzer. Basically you just place it in the hollows of your cheeks, down the sides of your nose, temples, and chin. You can use a fluffy brush and it won't look so harsh. I don't use any concealer under my eyes, it just looks worse. I finish with a pretty shimmer highlight on my upper cheek bones and brow bone. Brows are easy! Just use a pencil and lightly outline your natural shape and use small strokes to fill them in. Comb and done!
I have this pic where I am turning the 2nd barrel and my Mary Loumanizer highlight is on point! LOL |

This is so true! I was a competitive dancer for 20 years and own my own studio now and we have been contouring for YEARS!!!! But it was designed to make the face look more chiseled from far away or under stage lights. SO, I agree...find one good bronzer and one good highlighter! It keeps it much easier and then you don't actually look like a drag queen in everyday life
Layering make up like this will make you look OLDER when up close! Keep it simple!! |

To help minimize your pores - you can use a masque 2 x a week - after cleansing your skin you use a freshner w/ a cotton ball that will help tighten and help minimize pores. Remember this won't be an overnight fix - perhaps look at changing your cleansing products. lightening up on moisturizer during the day - and looking at different foundations - I use the MK foundation and then finish with the mineral foundation pwder.
good luck!

Beauty blenders are helpful. Sometimes I think sponges absorb too much of the make up. |

| Try NYX products from Ulta. They are at a low price point but a very nice quality. They do not test on animals either, which I love. What kind of coverage do you prefer? Light, medium/full?
From walmart I have used Loreal Paris Infallible Pro Matte foundation and liked it. It has staying power. I was also a fan of Neutrogena Healthy Skin.
Now I buy higher end cruelty free makeup (Mostly from Ulta). It is not all expensive. Check them out online.
I do like Bare Minerals (be sure to buy a primer to put on before your foundation. It makes it last longer and go on smoother) A finishing spray can also prolong wear. You can buy these in all different price points. I currently use Born This Way foundation by Too Faced. Its $38 but the quality is very nice. Annd I make it last a while.
For those of you looking to Contour.. I am adding link to a cheaper contour palette from ulta that you can try to get you started. I have it and am impressed with the quality/price. Im also adding a link to a video to show you how to do it.

Ladies I need help. I don't like my current makeup and I need something new but don't want to spend over $20 so I will be primarily shopping at Walmart lol. I am currently using mary Kay and hate it. Sorry Mary Kay. But it sinks into my pores and wrinkles (Im only 27) and I didn't think that should happen. I also like makeup that has some spf in it since im outside so much but I need something smooth and sweat proof at least for a little while. Any advice? Thanks :)
If you're wanting to look at drugstore makeup exclusively, and you want a matte finish I would look at the maybelline fit me matte+poreless or the loreal infallible matte finish. those are good. I love the wet n wild primer or the rimmel 5 in 1. maybelline fit me power really sets foundation well too. |

Primer goes on before your foundation. It helps smooth your lines and pores so your foundation will look better. |
