It's a tie. I really love MVP Exceed 6way but I have also become a Cur-Ost fan recently.

Herbie - 2016-09-19 3:42 PM I'll third the Cur-ost Total Support!  Hands down the most comprehensive product out there in managing and preventing all kinds of inflammation!
I know you had a horrible time getting your gelding back "to the land of the living", and that you tried all kinds of things. . . . Did you ever try the Platinum products, Herbie? I have my 5 on it and love it, but I just wonder if my old man (37) would do better on something else. I'm worried about him going in to winter.
Yes maam, I did use the Platinum products, but it was prior to him getting sick trying to manage what I thought were just "allergies".  I didn't see any improvement in his allergies or coughing, but I did have what smokingirlie calls a "kite"....meaning he was higher than a kite and handling him was like flying one.  Haha  My gelding is a very feel good horse as it is, and has what I describe as tourettes episodes when he's getting too much sugar and not enough exercise....he self mutilates.  With all the sugars in the Platinum, I could barely lead him from the barn to the pasture, and once he got out there, he would bite himself and turn in circles kicking out.  Not blaming the Platinum, just too much sugar for my guy....he's a weirdo!  LOL  Same thing happened when I had to give him Ventipulmin....major tourettes!

HA! I played a lot with supplements before finding Cur-OST. My mare was a fruit loop at one point while she was on allergy shots. And she happened to be on Platinum at that time. Not sure what the heck was going on but I couldn't even handle her, she was driving me crazy- she is normally very quiet and focused but man she felt like she was going to run at the NFR or something in the warm up pen. All jacked up on Mt. Dew

Good to know, I didn't realize that Platinum had lots of sugar or any sugar at all!

Thats the problem with supplements you have got to watch out for all the sugar in them so that means you have really got to study the supplement that you are planning on useing, My gelding grass founder this past spring so I have to be really carefull on the supplements that I choose for him, he cant have all that sugar that some have..Glad that you brought that up Herbie about the sugar, some people dont realize that theres sugar in some supplements..

Very true as it can compound some major issues with horses. For the record THE does not contain sugar. It's actually a great supplement for PSSM horses.

Lifeline Elite. I have fed it to multiple horses and had really good luck. One of those horses has had issues with ulcers in the past. They look and feel great with very minimal grain.

My number one pick would be CurOst. Only reason my guy isn't on it now is my budget. But 6 months of it and completely swapping to an alfalfa diet really helped to "reset" his system imo. I have maintained his natural diet, and have him on a different all around type supplement I can currently afford as a student with a part time job.
It's been over 6 months since he's had an CurOst product and he still feels great. No stomach/ulcer symptoms, and so level headed and quiet.

Those that feed The MM.... What do you put in as your add on supplements? I have a stocky type and a more slender tb that I want to put on THE just haven't ordered it yet. Have you tried your stocky horses on it, or just went with the performance?

Edited to add I plan on using ulcer prevent (haven't had problems though) and both joints. Do any of you put them on the lung supplement even if they haven't showed problems?

What is THE?

Google The Total Enhancement. I have yet to try it but its cheaper than most supplements out there and all my research I've done says it really works.

I feed THE performance to my "stocky" horse...actually he's not stocky he's just huge and slightly fat lol I add the allergy blend. It's works well and is cost effective. I do see improvement with his coughing.

I fed muscle mass to my colt and didn't really notice any major differences plus the jalapeΓ±o or cayenne seemed to burn his nose lol after he ate he would like flip it around like mom this stuff burns! I fed it to my other horse and it didn't bother him. I guess he was just sensitive.

I feed Muscle Mass to all of mine that get a supplment exept one. He is so hugely fat that he is on the Performance Formula. Stocky ones do just as great on the Muscle Mass. It doesn't bulk one up like a halter horse, but gives them lean muscle. I use ulcer prevent and joint or gluchon in all of my bags and then some get hair & coat. Old pony gets laminitis/blood flow and senior in his. Youngsters get wormer, immune, added  minerals in theirs.
